Ultra4 returns to Northern Nevada with its brand of wild racing. SPARKS (Oct. 17) – The Nitto Tires Ultra4 Nationals visited Wilde West Motorsports Park this weekend. They brought their crowd-pleasing mayhem as drivers not only had to get around the track but also had to race over fields of boulders. Racing preview for this week is a buffet of different types of racing, live, on TV and the Internet. There is a varied menu for racing fans in this area with three different live events to fill the weekend. On Saturday afternoon the Northern Nevada Kart will bring down the curtain on their season with the annual night race at Desert Park Raceway. Lucas Oil Off Road series visited Wild West Motorsports Park this weekend for a two day show at a circuit that’s a fan and driver favorite. Mustang (Aug. 22) – Lucas Oil Off Road Series is always a crowd favorite as the fans got a show of speed, color, sound and some mayhem. This week there is a traditional hybrid race featuring a cross between motocross and desert racing. It’s the 4th Annual Sandbox Grand Prix staged at the Fernley Lion’s Motocross Track. Saturday’s action begins at 12:30 a.m. with a race combining Women, 65cc and 100cc plus Vintage and Bomber bikes. Then the Pee Wees take to the track followed at 2:30 p.m. with a 90-minute team race for the Men, Women and Bombers. SPARKS DRIVER WINS ULTRA 4 TITLE
SPARKS, NV — Winning a championship in racing is never easy. It takes commitment, a whole lot of effort and support from people that help the driver as well as sponsors. And even then winning a title can be illusive. However when the recent Nitto Tire Ultra 4 Nationals ended at Wild West Motorsport Park, one local, Dave Schneider, achieved this goal and won the Legends class championship. WILD WEST HOSTS ULTRA 4’s
MUSTANG (Oct. 18) — The Wild West Motorsports Park hosted another first time visitor this weekend. The Nitto Tires Ultra 4 National Championship series pulled into the park on Friday for practice and qualifying during its season ending event. The drivers found a cross between brutal rock sections as well as high-speed areas and some fast corners. Its a mix that tested all of a driver’s talents as well as their machines. For one driver, Loren Healy from Farmington New Mexico, the day was his time to seal the deal on a perfect season and win the national championship.
