    RENO (Dec. 6) – The Northern Nevada Kart Club gathered at the Grand Sierra Resort to pay tribute to its volunteers and honor its champions from the 2014 season.   When the meeting got going outgoing president Brian Rivera asked for several moments of silence in memory of a club member that passed two weeks earlier. Jeff Cloutier was a veteran racer, starting in motocross, moving to stockcars then to karts and he will be missed by those that knew him. Rivera and Ed Diederich handled the MC chores.   • RYCKEBOSCH SCORES TAG CROWN

    SPARKS (Nov. 30) – Several classes in the Northern Nevada Kart Club are very competitive. Among them is the TAG Masters class and this year the battle for that championship was between two brothers, defending champion Steve Ryckebosch and his younger brother Mike.   “Steve and I are 55 and 54-years old but we are the same age for about two and a half weeks.     STEAD (Oct. 5) — Wonderful fall weather greeted members of the Northern Nevada Kart Club as they wound up their season at Desert Park Raceway. While the titles were already known the day put a cap on several driver’s year.   The race of the day came in the Tag Masters main. On the green Dan Harris got the hole shot with class champ Mike Ryckebosch right behind him. For the next several laps both drivers swapped the lead as they tore around the course.   • MARNN AT TOULAN + WEEK’S PREVIEW

    TOULON (Sept. 28) — Rain this weekend canceled one event but another soldiered on and ran its event. Due to the conditions at the track and in the pits Rattlesnake Raceway postponed its annual Dirt Track Championship, a two-day event that brings the track’s season to a close. Yet only about 60 miles away MRANN and District 36 ran their annual combined event, The Wild Horse and Wild Pony Enduro.   • SOME TITLES CLINCHED AT NNKC

      STEAD (Sept. 6) – With two races left on the schedule it’s time for drivers to seal the deal in their championship drives. So the Northern Nevada Kart Club’s latest races, which was a rare Saturday event, was very important.       At least three drivers clichéd championships and one of them notched crowns in two different classes.   • NNKC LIGHTS UP THE NIGHT

    STEAD (Aug. 16) – Once a year the Northern Nevada Kart Club honors one of its founders, the later Rick Jerome, with the annual night race. While most of the season is run in daylight this event begins in the late afternoon and ends under the lights.   To celebrate this once a year happening many racers festoon their karts with lights, in the wheels, on the trim and one even had headlights.
