    Rattlesnake Raceway hosted a night full of carnage, cautions and hard racing. Fallon (July 25) – It was a wild night, at least for the cars at Rattlesnake Speedway this week.     Racing preview this week covers the only area track in action as well as a host of events on TV and the Internet. This week local racing is a bit on the slim side but there still is one track in operation. Saturday, starting at 6 p.m. Rattlesnake Raceway, located just east of downtown Fallon, hosts another race featuring both the car classes and Outlaw Karts.   For those riders needing a two-wheel fix, Livfast Exit 28 will have practice sessions Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. The action on TV kicks off Thursday when CBS sports

  • RATTLESNAKE – FIREWORKS ON DIRT

    Rattlesnake Raceway had to change its 4th of July plans due to Mother Nature. FALLON (July 5) – Rattlesnake Raceway had a first this season, a weather delayed race. Mother Nature threw a wrench into the July 4th race and fireworks that was scheduled. Heavy rains Saturday caused the track, after checking with the drivers, to postpone the races until Sunday. But the fireworks were set off later in the evening. Sunday dawned bright, clear and it was going to be hot when everyone arrived.     Racing preview for this weekend has a mix of local and national events to see. Racing this week is a bit light locally but heavy on the TV and Internet side of things.   Things actually begin as Baldini’s Casino on Sparks is hosting its Freedom Festival. Highlighting Saturday is a visit from Livfast Freestyle MX riders. These guys will be jumping their motorcycles high in the air and doing tricks up there as well.     Rattlesnake had a wild night of hard racing, blinding dust and crazy mud drag racing. FALLON (June 27) – Rattlesnake had more than an interesting evening on this day.     Octane Fest winds up with an action packed Sunday at Top Gun and Rattlesnake Raceway.   FALLON, NV (June 14) – Octane fest wound up on Sunday with the Top Gun Raceway wrapping up the NHRA Pacific National event.     Octane Fest brings to Fallon an annual celebration of all types of motorsports. FALLON, NV (June 13) – Octane Fest is a celebration of the color, sound, horsepower, racing and other motorsport activities.     Octane Fest brings color and speed to Fallon. The Octane Fest rolls into Fallon this weekend for three days and evenings of action packed motorsports. In addition two regional tracks will also be staging their own races. On Friday evening at 7 p.m. the Lovelock Speedway hosts another points race while, up at Susanville, at that same time Diamond Mountain Speedway, located at the fairgrounds, will also be in action.     Rattlesnake hosts a night of cautions and carnage under an almost full moon.   FERNLEY (May 30) – There is a long-standing superstition about racing under a full moon. Although it wasn’t a full moon Saturday, it might as well have been. And the fans at Rattlesnake Raceway, well they got a night full of action.     This weekend’s racing will be a little less frantic that it was on Memorial Day Sunday. But there still is a pretty good variety for fans to choose from.   This afternoon there is a special event for youngsters. The AC/DC Bike Camp has demonstration rides at the Double Diamond Athletic Club.     RATTLESNAKE – GOETZ TOPS IMCA AS TRACK HONORS ARMED FORCES DAY. FALLON (May 16) – Rattlesnake Raceway’s latest round featured hard racing, kid’s rides and the track paid tribute to both active military and veterans on Armed Forces Day. In fact the night began with an Armed Forces Day salute where all the cars and Outlaw Karts were on the front straight.      RACING PREVIEW FOR THE WEEKEND This week has both oval and drag racing for area fans.   Things begin Friday as Fernley 95A Speedway hosts the 2nd annual Dave Richardson & Leroy Kay Memorial race. It’s a Western Dwarf Car regional. On both Friday and Saturday qualifying begins at 5 p.m. with racing starting at 6 p.m. These little speedsters usually put on quite a show.
