Racing preview for this week is a buffet of different types of racing, live, on TV and the Internet. There is a varied menu for racing fans in this area with three different live events to fill the weekend. On Saturday afternoon the Northern Nevada Kart will bring down the curtain on their season with the annual night race at Desert Park Raceway. Two events in our area are two-day affairs running on Saturday and Sunday. The new one is the Silver State Rock Crawling Championship held at the Wild West Motorsports Park. Racing preview for this weekend has something for almost any racing fan. Including a special event that will only happen once this year in our area. Locally oval track fans have three choices but there are two other events going on as well in a weekend filled with motor sports. Another week of varied motorsports for the racing fan, including some in this region. One of the biggest events this weekend will happen at Livfast Exit 28, located east of Sparks. The track is hosting what probably will be the only night motocross this summer. There will be practice sessions on Friday from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. Then practice resumes at 3 p.m. Saturday with the first motos slated to start right after that, as they’ll race into the night. Racing preview for this weekend has a mix of local and national events to see. Racing this week is a bit light locally but heavy on the TV and Internet side of things. Things actually begin as Baldini’s Casino on Sparks is hosting its Freedom Festival. Highlighting Saturday is a visit from Livfast Freestyle MX riders. This week’s racing has a mix of two- and four-wheel action in our region. The Fernley Lion’s Motocross Track will be in action as MRANN ends its spring desert-racing season. It’s the annual Corey Herring Memorial race but this time in a short track configuration. On Saturday, from 8 to 10 a.m. the big bikes can practice then at 10:30 a.m. the Pee Wee riders take center stage. What’s racing this weekend is packed days of motorsport action that has something for almost anybody. If the weather holds local race fans are in for a treat.
