Season in review is when we can look back at this past year and honor those that have raced as well as the champions. First recap is for the Northern Nevada Kart Club and their successful season. STEAD (June (26) – Desert Park Raceway was a busy place this Sunday. Despite the heat a good number of racers showed up to compete in the fourth round of this year’s Northern Nevada Kart Club’s series. “We didn’t have a very good second heat so I knew I had to get him (Mike Faker) on the start or had to pass him somewhere he’s weak at,” Jeremy Kay said after winning the 125 Stock Moto main.

NORTHERN NEVADA KART CLUB: RACE 4
Good weather blessed the latest race for NNKC and racers answered with a day of speed. STEAD (June 5) – The Northern Nevada Kart Club raced round four of its 2016 season at Desert Park Raceway on Sunday. While it was warm the weather wasn’t too bad as everyone was ready to go. NNKC MAKE UP RACE
This time the weather gods once again smiles on the Northern Nevada Kart Club. STEAD (May 22) – NNKC’s (Northern Nevada Kart Club) first race of the season was a rain out but today the club made it up. Desert Park Raceway was once again home to the sounds of karts tearing around the track. Saving the best for last the combined Sr/Sumo LO206 race had the closest finish for the day. MOTORSPORT PREVIEW: MAY 19 TO 22
Once again it’s going to be a jam packed weekend of racing action. Motorsport Preview for this weekend is another buffet that’s large enough to satisfy any fan, not matter what their hunger is for racing. The big event in our region is the grand reopening of Hawthorne Speedway, a track that’s been dark for almost 20-years. It’s a festival down there as Saturday is Armed Forces Day. NNKC: GREAT WEATHER AND RACING
After dodging rain during their last race, area go kart racers were blessed with an almost perfect weekend. STEAD (May 15) – NNKC (Northern Nevada Kart Club assembled this weekend for the third race in its 2016 season. This time Mother Nature cooperated and gave the racers great weather. NNKC: RICK JEROME MEMORIAL RACE
NNKC ended its season honoring one of its own as well as setting championships for a few classes. STEAD (Oct. 3) – Every year the Northern Nevada Kart Club (NNKC) honors one of its founders with a memorial night race. The late Rick Jerome helped move the club from racing in parking lots to having a track of its own; Desert Park Raceway. NNKC beats the heat for a hot day of racing at Desert Park. STEAD (July 19) – NNKC (Northern Nevada Kart Club) staged the sixth round of its points season this weekend at Desert Park Raceway. During the mains there were some very tight races and one young driver got the thrill of his life. NNKC Beats the heat for a day of hot racing. Stead (June 28) – A forecast of a high temperatures didn’t deter the hardcore members of the Northern Nevada Kart Club. They showed up anyway and, thanks to the cloud cover, had a pretty nice day of racing. The Senior Clone main was one of the great races of the day. Hot racing at Desert Park matched the temperature on Sunday. STEAD (June 7) – Hot racing on a hot day at Desert Park Raceway this Sunday as NNKC staged its latest round of the season. NNKC ROUND FEATURES MUCH HARD RACING AND SOME VERY CLOSE FINISHES STEAD (May 17) – The latest round for the Nevada Kart Club was run Sunday at Desert Park Raceway. Despite the threat of rain the “hurry up,” schedule allowed all the heats and races to be completed by early in the afternoon. RENO (Dec. 6) – The Northern Nevada Kart Club gathered at the Grand Sierra Resort to pay tribute to its volunteers and honor its champions from the 2014 season. When the meeting got going outgoing president Brian Rivera asked for several moments of silence in memory of a club member that passed two weeks earlier. Jeff Cloutier was a veteran racer, starting in motocross, moving to stockcars then to karts and he will be missed by those that knew him. Rivera and Ed Diederich handled the MC chores.
