The Ironman Challenge recap is divided and this part covers the first four venues the tour visited. This year was the first Evenson Law Office Ironman Challenge for Hobby Stocks and IMCA Modifieds. It’s a format that favors those taking the long view as there are 10 races over a 10-day period at five different venues. This weekend was a special one for two drivers and one family that honored one they recently lost. FERNLEY (June 4) – 95A Speedway had an interesting race this weekend. One driver achieved a mile stone, another won the big prize and both drivers as well as fans paid homage to the recently deceased father of a racing family. The Two Day Show at the 95A Speedway is an annual happening, of the wild kind. FERNLEY (Oct. 10/11) – The racing year ends at Fernley 95A Speedway with an annual two-day show. It’s always been a wild show full of action, carnage, speed and this year was like the last ones. Saturday is reserved for heat races and mains for the two smallest classes. CHAMPIONSHIP NIGHT AT 95A
Championship Night was delayed due to rain so the track moved the main events to a night where it didn’t rain. FERNLEY (Oct. 9) – After having the season’s final mains were rained out Fernley 95A Speedway held a make up race Friday night just before its annual two-day show. RACING PREVIEW: OCT. 1-4
Racing preview for this week is a buffet of different types of racing, live, on TV and the Internet. There is a varied menu for racing fans in this area with three different live events to fill the weekend. On Saturday afternoon the Northern Nevada Kart will bring down the curtain on their season with the annual night race at Desert Park Raceway. Racing preview for this week has something for just about every race fan. And one traditional event, not returned to its original venue is doing something special to honor the sport’s history. With Labor Day weekend here, one regional track is ending its 2015 season while another is continuing on. With few races left in the season points are becoming critical for many drivers. 95A Speedway has another night of hard racing as points are becoming very important plus one race that has an extra bonus for the winner. This week’s races at the 95A Speedway have many incentives for drivers as one was trying to score his first victory of the year, after a winning season last year. Racing preview for this week includes regional action as well as what will be on TV and the Internet. Two regional tracks are in action this week with programs that should be full of hard racing. 95A SPEEDWAY – WILD RACING NIGHT
95A Speedway was the scene of wild racing this past Saturday. Fernley (July 11) – 95A Speedway was spared flooding from the recent storms so was ready to go Saturday. Those fans in attendance got a wild night of racing that had something for almost everybody including an altercation between two drivers. After the dust settled in the caution filled IMCA feature winner Robert Miller was asked if he thought it would ever end. “No, but I’m glad it did. It was nice to have Alex Stanford to tow all they way up here and run with us,” he said.

RACING PREVIEW – JULY 9-12
Another week of varied motorsports for the racing fan, including some in this region. One of the biggest events this weekend will happen at Livfast Exit 28, located east of Sparks. The track is hosting what probably will be the only night motocross this summer.
