Despite the heat a good number of racers showed up to compete in the fourth round of this year’s Northern Nevada Kart Club’s series. “We didn’t have a very good second heat so I knew I had to get him (Mike Faker) on the start or had to pass him somewhere he’s weak at,” Jeremy Kay said after winning the 125 Stock Moto main.

Good weather blessed the latest race for NNKC and racers answered with a day of speed. STEAD (June 5) – The Northern Nevada Kart Club raced round four of its 2016 season at Desert Park Raceway on Sunday. While it was warm the weather wasn’t too bad as everyone was ready to go. Once again the fastest karts were in the Stock Moto 125 shifter class. This year’s it’s been a duel between young Jeremy Kay and Mike Faker with Dean Andrews chasing them. NNKC MAKE UP RACE
This time the weather gods once again smiles on the Northern Nevada Kart Club. STEAD (May 22) – NNKC’s (Northern Nevada Kart Club) first race of the season was a rain out but today the club made it up. Desert Park Raceway was once again home to the sounds of karts tearing around the track. Saving the best for last the combined Sr/Sumo LO206 race had the closest finish for the day. After dodging rain during their last race, area go kart racers were blessed with an almost perfect weekend. STEAD (May 15) – NNKC (Northern Nevada Kart Club assembled this weekend for the third race in its 2016 season. This time Mother Nature cooperated and gave the racers great weather. RACING PREVIEW: OCT. 1-4
Racing preview for this week is a buffet of different types of racing, live, on TV and the Internet. There is a varied menu for racing fans in this area with three different live events to fill the weekend. On Saturday afternoon the Northern Nevada Kart will bring down the curtain on their season with the annual night race at Desert Park Raceway. Practice begins around 4 p.m. and after qualifying racing will begin as they roar into the night. Any championships that are up for grabs will be decided by the time the final checkered flag waves. NNKC beats the heat for a hot day of racing at Desert Park. STEAD (July 19) – NNKC (Northern Nevada Kart Club) staged the sixth round of its points season this weekend at Desert Park Raceway. During the mains there were some very tight races and one young driver got the thrill of his life. NNKC Beats the heat for a day of hot racing. Stead (June 28) – A forecast of a high temperatures didn’t deter the hardcore members of the Northern Nevada Kart Club. They showed up anyway and, thanks to the cloud cover, had a pretty nice day of racing. The Senior Clone main was one of the great races of the day. Hot racing at Desert Park matched the temperature on Sunday. STEAD (June 7) – Hot racing on a hot day at Desert Park Raceway this Sunday as NNKC staged its latest round of the season. NNKC ROUND FEATURES MUCH HARD RACING AND SOME VERY CLOSE FINISHES STEAD (May 17) – The latest round for the Nevada Kart Club was run Sunday at Desert Park Raceway. Despite the threat of rain the “hurry up,” schedule allowed all the heats and races to be completed by early in the afternoon. RYCKEBOSCH SCORES TAG CROWN
SPARKS (Nov. 30) – Several classes in the Northern Nevada Kart Club are very competitive. Among them is the TAG Masters class and this year the battle for that championship was between two brothers, defending champion Steve Ryckebosch and his younger brother Mike. “Steve and I are 55 and 54-years old but we are the same age for about two and a half weeks. STEAD (Oct. 5) — Wonderful fall weather greeted members of the Northern Nevada Kart Club as they wound up their season at Desert Park Raceway. SOME TITLES CLINCHED AT NNKC
STEAD (Sept. 6) – With two races left on the schedule it’s time for drivers to seal the deal in their championship drives. So the Northern Nevada Kart Club’s latest races, which was a rare Saturday event, was very important. NNKC LIGHTS UP THE NIGHT
STEAD (Aug. 16) – Once a year the Northern Nevada Kart Club honors one of its founders, the later Rick Jerome, with the annual night race. While most of the season is run in daylight this event begins in the late afternoon and ends under the lights. To celebrate this once a year happening many racers festoon their karts with lights, in the wheels, on the trim and one even had headlights. And it brings out a fairly large crowd of competitors.
