    FERNLEY, NV (Aug. 11) – Fernley 95A Speedway not only hosted the Nevada Pro Stock Association but dedicated the night’s racing to the family of Chris Juhl, who was badly burned in a pit accident at Fallon on July 4th. Track owner Dan Simpson informed everyone at the driver’s meeting that all proceeds from the night would be donated to the family to help with their medical expenses.     STEAD, NV (Aug.5) – Desert Park Raceway was alive with kart racing as the Northern Nevada Kart Club (NNKC) staged its fifth race of this season.     MUSTANG, NV (July 21) – This year the Silver State Showdown at the Wild West Motorsports Park was a one night show this year. While things got off to a good start Mother Nature had other plans for the night. Before qualifying was finished there was a report of a lightning strike about a mile from the track. This caused the track and bleachers to be cleared and started a four-hour delay in the program. Soon after that the rains came causing puddles and turning the track into mud. For the pro stocks it was a time to remember and honor their former photographer with the Richard Wainscott Memorial Race.     STEAD, NV (July 15) – Desert Park Raceway was the site of the fourth round for this year’s Northern Nevada Kart Club’s season. Warm temperatures didn’t slow down the racers but some bugs did, at least for a while. Early in the day bugs, flying ants, plagued the scoring tower as well as the corner stations. Fortunately Ecolab was summed and they made quick work of the pests but the break morphed into the lunch break.
