RENO, NV (Aug.21) — Well here we are, the final weekend of August. For some it means back to school, for others it’s almost the end of summer. No matter as the car meet buffet is over flowing and racing is in the air. CAR MEETS: • Thursday begins at 8 a.m. when the Iron Mafia has its weekly meet at Kim’s Donuts. Location is 1328 U.S. 395 North in Gardnerville. • Friday afternoon, beginning at 6 p.m. is the Fernley Friday Meet. RENO, NV (Aug. 14) — While Hot August Nights may have ended there are more to come with races, car meets and what’s on TV as well as the Internet. It’s a full buffet this weekend. CAR MEETS: • As usual the weekend gets rolling at 8 a.m. Thursday when the Iron Mafia has its weekly meet. RENO, NV (8-7) — This week is Hot August Nights, probably the largest car festival of the year. In addition there is racing both, live and on TV. CAR MEETS: • All this week Hot August Nights has events in Reno and Sparks. On Tuesday Summit Racing had a small show with many different types of cars and trucks.          -Not far away the Grand Sierra’s northwest parking lot was full of cars, vendors and a stage for nightly concerts. CAR MEETS: • As usual the Iron Mafia starts the weekend rolling at 8 a.m. with their meet at Kim’s Donuts. It’s the Battle of the Car Clubs where one car belonging to one club will get the trophy and a year’s worth of bragging
