  • RATTLESNAKE RACEWAY SEASON OPENER

    FALLON, NV (April 24) – Rattlesnake Raceway began its 2021 season with a two-day show on Friday and Saturday. While the last day began windy that eased after sunset.   Starting the night were the Hobby Stock racers. When the green waved Richie Altman was briefly in the lead until Victor Richey used an inside pass to take the point.   In back of the leader Jacob Dias was charging through the pack. Eventually he scored the victory followed by Richey and Dan Dias. For Jacob Dias this was his 100th Hobby Stock win. He celebrated by stopping on the

  • TOP GUN DRAG STRIP STARTS SEASON

    FALLON, NV (4-25) – Despite winds and cool weather this weekend area drag racers took to the track at Top Gun Drag Strip this weekend. As usual there was tire smoke, thunder and fast speeds.   The day got started normally but before some of the semi finals could be run there was a rain delay. May have happened earlier as well.   One area of concern was the shut down area where the racers were at top speed. After the last episode ended it took the track crew about 20 minutes and things were ready to go again.

  • RACING PREVIEW: APRIL 22 TO 25

    RENO, NV (April21) – This weekend’s racing preview has more events including two area tracks that are starting their seasons. There is more racing on TV as well as two motocross events in Northern California.   CAR MEETS: • Before the weekend’s cool down once again things get rolling Friday, from 7 until 9 p.m. with the Fernley Main Street Cruise.   • NORCAL ROCK RACING – WILD WEST SHOOTOUT

    FERNLEY, NV (April 17) — Norcal Rock Racing brought its brand of off road racing here this weekend. This round was Metal Cloak Wild West Shootout. Mild weather with some win set the stage for a day of hard off-road racing.   First up was the Pre Runner class and only two of the trio were able to take the green. In the main Alan Jaime had to drop out with problems and that gave the victory to Team Wfo, which finished after losing the truck’s left rear wheel.   • DESERT PARK RACEWAY: NNKC ROUND 1

    STEAD, NV (April, 18)  – The Northern Nevada Kart Club opened it’s 2021 season this weekend. It was a very good turn out for the season’s first race as 77 drivers were on hand.   Desert Park Raceway can be altered for every event. This time it was a throw back as the club used the original configuration before the track was expanded.   The honor of starting the new season went to the youngest racers in the Kid Kart Class.   • DIAMOND MOUNTAIN SPEEDWAY STARTS SEASON

    SUSANVILLE, CALIF. (April 3) — Diamond Mountain Speedway opened its 2021 season with a Friday/Saturday show on Easter weekend. Good car counts, fans in the stands were a positive sign for the upcoming season. Before the main events began there was an Easter Egg hunt on the infield. Dozens of plastic colored eggs were put out as youngsters from the stands and pits converged on the area. Many carried Easter baskets and on the signal the rush was on.     RENO, NV (April 2) — Beautiful weather on Easter Sunday set the stage for Reno Cars & Coffee meet. As usual the first of the month meet was by the Keitzke Starbucks and once again it was a large gathering. These meets area a great way to be around car people or just to see some good looking cars.     FERNLEY, NV (March 28) — Once again the Sandbox, or Fernley Motocross Track, echoed with the sounds of racing. Nice weather just highlighted the fist day of the 2021 season. Usually this race gets a large turnout however this time it was a bit more than anticipated. The reason was probably due to everyone wanting to finally back back on the track. Its located by the corner of Moana and Keitzke Lane, very close to the freeway and the turn out was massive. At these meets several will bring older cars, ones they give new life to.
