RENO, NV (Jan. 19) — Hard to believe but the first month of the year is almost over. RENO, NV (Jan.12) — Here we are, halfway through January and there is racing. Overseas the Dakar Rally is heading for it’s final day this weekend while here in the U.S. the Chili Bowl is working its way to the mains on Saturday.  In our immediate area we have a car meet while over the hill there is MX practice. RENO, NV (Jan.5) — Well here we are in the New Year and racing has started with a bang. In this area we car meets, racing to the south but soon local racing will follow.  CAR MEETS: • Things get going Saturday at 3 p.m. when the Nevada Jeep Club has its first Wine, Women and Jeeps event. RENO, NV (Dec. 29) — As we say good by to one year and welcome a New Year there are a few things happening. Next weekend however racing begins in earnest for open wheel and motocross fans.  CAR MEETS: • While not exactly a car meet there is a benefit for an area driver. Hobby Stock competitor Randy Boyd has a medical issue so his friends are holding a charity benefit for him News Years Day.  The Carson Raceway, located at 3777 North Carson Street is the location and things get going around noon. RENO, NV (Dec. 22) — It’s Christmas weekend so almost everything is at a stand still. RENO, NV (Dec. 15)— We’ll there are still a couple of things plus some MX practice, at least on our side of the mountains. As far as TV goes we’re deep in the Re-Run Zone for the next few weeks.  CAR MEETS: • The Nevada Jeep Club gets things going Saturday with the Carson City Christmas Convoy and Parade of Lights. The assembly point is on the frontage road by Carson Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep and Ram.  They want everyone there by 4:30 p.m. then the parade starts at 5 p.m. and proceeds north up Carson Street to Bullys. RENO, NV (Dec. 8) — This week’s Racing Preview has more car meets, parade of lights as well as some racing. On the TV side we are almost 100% into the Re-Run Zone but that ends a month from now.  CAR MEETS/LIGHT PARADES: • Friday has two light parades to choose from.  Here in Reno the Hills Angels 4X4 club is staging the 2nd Annual Reno Light Parade. The meeting place is the dirt area on the south side of Meadowood Mall.  The meeting time is 5 p.m. then at 6 p.m. everyone convoys up Virginia Street through downtown. The
