    RENO, NV (Feb. 5) — The Kicker AMA Arenacross series set up camp for a two-day show at the Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center this weekend. The result was two days that were a blizzard of heats, some LCQ’s and mains.  Before every program began a JROTC group from a local high school presented the colors.   • RACING PREVIEW: FEBRUARY 3 TO 6

    RENO, NV (Feb.2) — Second month of the New Year starts off with a bang as there is a car meet, motocross action as well as NASCAR’s first race of the year. Now racing is heading for even more events in the coming weeks.  CAR MEETS:  • On Thursday, at 7:30 p.m. Reno Corvettes has its monthly meeting at the Bonanza Casino located at 4720 North Virginia in Reno.   • BBMX AWARDS BANQUET

    RENO, NV (Jan. 29) — BBMX (Battle Born Motocross) held its annual award ceremony at Boomtown. It was a packed house and there were a lot of trophies to hand out as well as raffle prizes.  For those that rode in all 11 rounds there were special grand prizes that were handed out in a special raffle.  The ceremony also marked the changing of the guard as the current board decided to move on so now there is a new board at the helm.      RENO, NV (Jan. 26) — Since it’s the fifth weekend of the month not much is happening locally except for one group.   • MUD FEST AND SPARKS CARS & COFFEE

    SPARKS, NV (Jan. 23) — This weekend there was a double header, two very different events that appealed to very different car and truck people.  Things got started Saturday when several hundred gathered around a huge pond off Chickadee Road, in the back of Lemmon Valley. It was Mud Fest 2022 and there was plenty of mud to go around as well as music and concessions.  Taking up the challenge was mix of 4X4 Pick Ups, 4X4 SUV’s, Jeeps and even UTV’s.   • RENO CARS & COFFEE AT THE HUMAN BEAN

    RENO, NV (Jan. 16) — Reno Cars & Coffee had its second meet of the month. This time it was at the Human Bean, by the corner of Keitzke and Moana Lane. Good weather brought a mix of cars and one of them was a Jeep owned by Kathy Dufek.   • MRANN AWARDS BANQUET

    SPARKS, NV (Jan. 8) — Most of MRANN gathered at the Sparks Nugget for the annual awards banquet where champions were honored.   • RACERS HELP ANOTHER RACER & RENO CARS & COFFEE

    CARSON CITY, NV (1-1-22) — Local racers spent New Year’s Day at the Carson Raceway, an indoor track for electric go-karts. Their effort was to help a racer’s family as he is tackling a medical problem.  The benefit was the idea of another local racer Royce Goetz.  “I was the one that started it then Joe and Hailey Conroy pretty joined hands with the,” he said. “We all got together to help Buddy, who always helped us.”  He added that Randy “Buddy” Boyd and his wife were at first reluctant but later got behind the effort.  “We wanted to make

  • JEEP PARADE OF LIGHTS & CARS FOR TOTS

    RENO, NV (DEC. 19) — Two very different events this weekend. Saturday found the Nevada Jeep Club staging a Parade of Lights and convoy through downtown Carson City. Sunday is when Reno Cars & Coffee had the third annual Cars & Toys at Muscle Motors.  Things got rolling Saturday evening in front of Carson City Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram.
