STEAD, NV (April 3, 2022) — Desert Park Raceway echoed with the sounds of racing as the Northern Nevada Kart Club (NNKC) began it’s 2022 season. The turn out was good and Mother Nature cooperated with mild spring weather. The Kid Kart division got the honor of starting the season. This a non-competitive class so these youngest drivers are listed when the finish a race. Many times just staying on the track is a great accomplishment. DIAMOND MOUNTAIN SPEEDWAY STARTS SEASON
SUSANVILLE, CALIF. (March 26) — Diamond Mountain Speedway in Susanville, California opened its season with a good car count and some hard racing. There were a few “first race of the season,” things but the crew worked around those. As a result the night ran a bit long but everyone was glad to be back on the track again. RENO, NV (March 20) — Sunday was the first day of Spring and a good number of cars showed up for the Reno Cars & Coffee meet. It was a pretty good mix of exotic, vintage and not so exotic. There is plenty of motocross action over the hill in Northern California plus a lot on TV and the Internet. WINNEMUCCA MX STARTS BBMX SEASON
WINNEMUCCA, NV (March 13) — The BBMX season opener was hosted by the Winnemucca MX Club. It was a challenging day to say the least. The club president told this reporter they had 264 riders that accounted for 468 entries since several rode in more than one class. Between the heats and the single Club Moto there were 24 motos in the first session and would be 23 in the second and that’s not counting the heat and LCQ races. NEVADA JEEP CLUB — RENO CARS & COFFEE
RENO, NV (March 6) — This weekend two groups had meets to get the month of March rolling. On Saturday it was the Nevada Jeep Club at the Peavine Tap House while Reno Cars & Coffee had its meet Sunday by the Kietzke Starbucks. Despite some mile snow flurries the turn out for the Nevada Jeep Club was more than expected. Many lined up their jeeps so other could see them. At the Peavine Tap House there was a table for the three trophies and swag as well. The trophies were for, Cleanest, Best in Show and the Dirtiest.

SPARKS, NV (Feb 28) —Sparks Cars & Coffee ended February with its second meet of the month. While there wasn’t a massive turn out it wasn’t too bad and the weather cooperated as well. As usual the Corvette crowd was in attendance. One duo was a great looking Ducati motorcycle parked next to an immaculate black Corvette. Sitting not far away was a 1969 Plymouth Road Runner owned by Paul Petersen. He’s new to the area after he and his wife moved here from Oregon. LOST LLAMA OPENS MRANN’S SEASON
NIGHTINGALE, NV (Feb. 20) – The Trail Blazers Motorcycle Club opened MRANN”s 2022 season with the Return of the Lost Llama event, two days of racing on the desert. Pretty good weather set the stage for two days of hard racing. The Big Bike event on Sunday marked the return of a veteran.
