    RENO, NV (Dec. 25) — Merry Christmas to all our readers. Hope it was a great day for you. This week we have racing in our area plus other things. Since we’re still in the Re-Run zone and it’s the fifth weekend of the month things are a bit scrambled until we get into the New Year. As a result these reports will be a bit different.   • SPARKS CARS & COFFEE – LAST MEET THIS MONTH

    SPARKS, NV (Dec. 22) – Three days before Christmas Sparks Cars & Coffee held its final meet of the month and of the year. Next time they meet it will be the second weekend in January 2025. Unfortunately, due to the weather and the upcoming holiday, the turnout was sparse but there was a decent variety of cars. At one end of a row were two exotic and high performance cars.     RENO, NV (Dec. 18) — Almost to Christmas and New Year’s so racing on TV is truly in the Re-Run Zone. However there are still car and motorcycle events in our region.   • CAR CLUBS HELP CHILDREN’S CABINET

    RENO, NV (Dec. 15) — Several car clubs came together this weekend to help the Children’s Cabinet. Starting the day was Reno Cars & Coffee. Asked about why this meet was different Lance Freitas, who heads the group, explained why it was. “This is our ninth annual Toy Run,” he said. “We wanted to donate toys for the kids and Old Slammers were doing their drive over at Winco.   • RPM WORKSHOP VISITS RENO

    RENO, NV (Dec. 5) — The RPM Workshop, now in its 52nd year, has two workshops. First is at Reno then early next year, in Daytona. These Workshops bring the short track industry together. Tuesday evening is a time to socialize with other promoters as well as sign in. It’s held in the Novi Lounge of the Eldorado and the casino provides a buffet meal. • Wednesday opened with a small trade show that is part of the Work Shop.   • ANNUAL RENO TOY RUN FOR CHARITY

    RENO, NV (Dec 8) – Sunday was the 44th Annual Reno Toy Run, which is organized by the Northern Nevada Confederation of Clubs. The meeting place was Reno Harley-Davidson located at 2315 Market Street. The dealership helps out the group as many ride Harleys.   • SPARKS CARS & COFFEE CLOSES OUT NOVEMBER

    SPARKS, NV (Nov. 23) — Sparks Cars & Coffee timed it perfectly, as the meet was between two storm surges. Even though the cool weather might have reduced the car count there were more than enough on hand. As usual there were a variety of cars plus some trucks.   • AMATEUR DAY AT ARENACROSS

    RENO, NV (Nov. 17) — After the pros raced for two nights the course was altered and the Amateurs to got their turn. As usual there are many classes and they ran a set of heats then mains. REPORTER’S NOTE: While I’m including all the classes due to an accident was only able to stay for the heat races. As a result wasn’t able to stay for the mains but I’ve got as many pictures of the eventual winners as I could. Starting the show is the Stacyc Class, they race small eBikes and two Northern Nevada rider scored victories.

  • ARENACROSS VISITS RENO LEC

    RENO, NV (Nov. 15) — The Reno/Sparks Livestock Events Center was busy place this weekend. That’s where the 2024/2025 AMA Arenacross season began. Friday and Saturday were for the Pros while Sunday the amateurs had their turn on a modified track. • Day two of the Arenacross was Saturday with the same schedule as Friday. After the two LCQ races for the pros, it was time for the Micro Open Limited race with the 4 to 8-year-old riders. When the gate dropped Ashton Etzen took off with Tallan Smith giving chase.
