RENO, NV (August 21)— On this late summer day Reno Cars & Coffee had its second meet of the month. While the turnout had a good variety of cars the numbers the count was down a bit from the last meet. Wasn’t really a Corvette row but a couple of them were the front engine variety. RENO, NV (AUGUST 13) — The Bonanza Casino in Reno had a Cowboy Truck Show this Saturday. There was a pretty good mix of vintage, restored and almost new trucks on display. There were several lines of various types of trucks. One of them was a 1958 Studebaker Transtar owned by Marty Meckler. “It’s all original, 258 cubic inchV-8, it’s got a three-speed transmission with a Borg Warner overdrive. STEAD, NV (July 7) — Desert Park Raceway echoed with the sound of racing Sunday. The occasion was round six of the 2022 season for the Northern Nevada Kart Club. As usual the youngsters in the Kid Kart Class raced in the first main of the day. This time there were three of them and when the green lights came on Jameson Judd and Davey Jorgenson took off while Hunter Nelson, who is very fast, was held to give them a head start. RENO, NV (July 31) — This weekend begins a huge celebration of cars in the Reno/Sparks area. There will be cruises and shows in various areas plus crowds of people enjoying this festival. Hot August Nights started things with a Friday-Saturday show up in Virginia City. They blocked off C Street and it was full of cars on display. While some cars were restored while others were built from almost nothing. DIAMOND MOUNTAIN SPEEDWAY: NIGHT OF YELLOW FLAGS
SUSANVILLE, CA (July 24) — Diamond Mountain ended its regular season with the Fair Races. The annual race ends the Lassen County Fair and has a couple of events added to it. In the end, it was a night of cautions and yellow flags in all but one race. And the flagman was probably very tired from so much waving his yellow flag. The evening got started with an added event; Power Wheels competition for the kids. Each had a balloon attached to the front and back of their ride with the goal of popping the balloon of a competitor.

QUINCY, CALIFORNIA (July 16) — American Valley Speedway staged the next round of its 2022 season Saturday. It was a good night full of a hard racing and a lot of action on the track. That action began right at the start of the Mini Stock main. Right at the green Lilly Montgomery and Victor Torres tangled. Both had to pit for flat tires. NORTHERN NEVADA KART CLUB: ROUND 5
STEAD, NV (JULY 17) — A week after the KPX series visited Desert Park Raceway the Northern Nevada Kart Club hosted the next round of their 2022 season on the same track configuration. Due to the forecast hot weather, and that only two Kid Kart drivers their first heat was during qualifying for everyone. That way they ran their six-lap feature when the second heat was running for everyone else. On the green, from a standing start both boys were nose-to-tail for the first third of the race. KPX VISITS DESERT PARK RACEWAY
RENO, NV (July 10) — The first of two special races this season visited Desert Park Raceway this weekend.
