    RENO, NV (Oct.16) – Reno Cars & Coffee had their second meet of the month. Weather was great and included in this report are the winners from the recent Dirt Track Championships at Rattlesnake Raceway in Fallon.  This coverage of the current meet by Reno Cars & Coffee will be a bit different. Didn’t to any interviews but focused on comparisons, motors and one exotic car.   • RACING PREVIEW: OCTOBER 13 TO 16

    RENO, NV (Oct. 12) — A charity poker run for motorcycles as well as car meets fill this weekend. There are still races to be seen on TV and some Internet sites. CAR MEETS: • The weekend get rolling when Carson Cars & Coffee has a Trunk or Treat meet at the Carson Mall Shopping Center. The Mall is located at the south end of the City and north of the Rail Road Museum. Set up is from 6 until 7 p.m. and Trunk or Treating starts at 7:15.   • IKF GRAND NATIONALS AT DESERT PARK RACEWAY

    STEAD, NV (Oct. 9) — For three days this weekend the Northern Nevada Kart Club hosted the International Karting Federation Grand Nationals. This event last visited Desert Park Raceway in 2009.  Racers were competing for two desired trophies. The first is a “Duffy” the class winners earn while the next was for the driver turning in the fastest lap; the “Screaming Eagle.”  After Sunday morning’s practice and the third set of heat races everyone was ready for the 20-lap main events.  Up first were the young racers in the Junior 1 Class.     RENO, NV (Oct. 5) — As we head into October there are a bunch of car swap meets. The oval track season in Northern Nevada is shutting down but there is one more weekend to go at the Susanville track.  Over on TV Land major series are heading into their final weeks.   • OCTOBER BEGINS WITH LOCAL CAR MEETS

    RENO, NV (Oct. 2) — Fall is here, cruise-ins are disappearing but car meets still happening. Oval track season in Northern Nevada has one more weekend to go while desert racing and motocross events are continuing plus some big events are to come.  Over on TV, major series are either finishing their seasons or heading for the races that will determine their championships.   • NNKC CHAMPIONSHIP DAY & DOLAN CARS & COFFEE

    STEAD, NV (Sept. 25.) — Sunday marked the end of the point’s season for the Northern Nevada Kart Club. So for them it was championship day and in Reno, the Dolan Toyota Dealership was the site of the largest Cars and Coffee gathering of the year. Perfect racing weather greeted members and visitors at Desert Park Raceway. Several drivers clinched titles while others are waiting to see how the points fall out.     RENO, NV (Sept. 18) — Despite the cooler weather and a few sprinkles Sunday, two car meets happened this weekend. And they brought very different cars and trucks to each meet.  Saturday got rolling at 4 p.m. when the Rail City Casino in Sparks hosted the Rockabilly Rat Rod and Classic Car show ‘n shine.   • RATTLESNAKE RACEWAY: SEASON’S FINAL POINT’S RACE.

    FALLON, NV (Sept. 10) — Rattlesnake Raceway ended the 2022 points season with a Friday/Saturday show. Saturday ended with a memorial race dedicated to a former driver and a large payout to the Hobby Stock winner.  The IMCA Stock Cars got the night’s feature races started. On the green Jesse Gonzales jumped into the lead with the pack chasing him.  There was a quick caution after a car spun in Turn 4 but got going again.     RENO, NV (Sept 4) — In addition to the Best in the West Rib Cook Off there were a pair of car meets this weekend. One saw the Impalas Car Club in Sun Valley while the other was Reno Cars & Coffee. The weekend got rolling at the Sun Valley Community Center when the Impalas Car Club held their meet.   • MARATHON NIGHT RACE FOR NNKC

    STEAD, NV (Aug. 27) – The annual night race usually gets a good turn but this year’s turn out was huge. With just over a month to go until the national championship event there were 107 drivers registered.  Not only is the night race unique, but it provided a chance to race on the same track the IKF national championship event will use.
