    RENO, NV (March 5) — With the recent snowfall the Reno Cars & Coffee meet was one for those with 4X4’s. As expected, many of the regulars didn’t want to drive on the slick pavement. However despite the snow and slick streets, four showed up, including Lance Freitas in his red Jeep. One couple came drove a large Suburban while another couple came in a 4X4 pickup.   • FIRE AND ICE 100 STARTS SEASON FOR MRANN

    NIGHTINGALE, NV (Feb. 19) — This weekend Trail Blazers MC started the 2023 season for MRANN. As traditional the Hare & Hound event was staged north of the Nightingale exit on I-80, which is east of Fernley. This season there have been some changes in MRANN and one of them was a new Pro Class for the Big Bikes. They all carry the AA designation and ride with red plates although some still have to make that switch. And there is money awarded at the end of the race.     RENO, NV (Feb. 15) — This weekend we have a Jeep trail ride, a car meet and two major series racing on TV. In addition there is an off-road motorcycle race this weekend. CAR MEETS: • On Saturday the Nevada Jeep Club has the Eldorado Canyon Trail Run. Everyone gathers at the Squeeze in Carson City at 9 for breakfast then the group convoys out to Dayton.     RENO, NV (Feb 4) — The Reno chapter of the Over The Hill Gang (OTHG) held its award banquet this weekend. Due to a supply hold up certificates were handed out rather than trophies, which will be given out later. During the night there were bags of swag and everyone got at least two of them during the raffles. Before things got started OTHG president Dan Martin had some comments.   • AMA ARENACROSS VISITS RENO

    RENO, NV (FEB. 3) — The Kicker AMA Arenacross series visited the Reno Livestock Events Center this weekend. It was a three-day show but the pros only raced on Friday while the weekend was for the amateurs. The night started with a pit party where spectators could come down, walk the track then meet the riders and see their bikes. Many fans got autographs and had their checkered flags autographed. Once that ended and the track cleared the National Anthem was sung. Then the pros began to line up for a series of four heat races where the first two

  • MRANN AWARDS CEREMONY AND BANQUET

    RENO (Jan. 28) — The desert racers that compete in the MRANN series assembled for their yearly banquet and awards ceremony this weekend. For many it was a time to reflect on the season past, maybe get a trophy, a new number and mentally start preparing for the 2023 season that begins in February. This would be the final time that Ricky Dahlberg was acting as MRANN’s president.   • BATTLE BORN MX AWARDS BANQUET

    RENO, NV (Jan. 22) — On Saturday those that race with Battle Mountain MX, or BBMX as it’s known assembled at Boomtown. The occasion was the annual awards ceremony and banquet.
