    Racing Preview for this weekend is still varied although various series are heading for their final events of the season. Racing is winding down in Northern Nevada but there is one local event this weekend. Livfast Exit 28 is hosting the third round of the spring motocross season. Practice is on Saturday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Then on Sunday gates will open at 6 a.m. followed by practice sessions with a hoped for 9 a.m. start to the motos.       Racing Preview has another varied menu even though racing is winding down. This week still has some local events, even though the season is winding down.   • RACING PREVIEW: OCT. 1-4

    Racing preview for this week is a buffet of different types of racing, live, on TV and the Internet. There is a varied menu for racing fans in this area with three different live events to fill the weekend. On Saturday afternoon the Northern Nevada Kart will bring down the curtain on their season with the annual night race at Desert Park Raceway. Practice begins around 4 p.m. and after qualifying racing will begin as they roar into the night. Any championships that are up for grabs will be decided by the time the final checkered flag waves.     Racing preview for this week has something for just about every race fan. And one traditional event, not returned to its original venue is doing something special to honor the sport’s history. With Labor Day weekend here, one regional track is ending its 2015 season while another is continuing on. With few races left in the season points are becoming critical for many drivers.      Racing preview for this weekend has something for almost any racing fan. Including a special event that will only happen once this year in our area.     Racing preview for this week includes regional action as well as what will be on TV and the Internet.     Racing preview this week covers the only area track in action as well as a host of events on TV and the Internet. This week local racing is a bit on the slim side but there still is one track in operation.     Racing preview for this weekend has a mix of local and national events to see. Racing this week is a bit light locally but heavy on the TV and Internet side of things.   Things actually begin as Baldini’s Casino on Sparks is hosting its Freedom Festival.          THIS WEEK’S RACING PREVIEW ISN’T AS FRANTIC AS THE LAST ONE. Although there is less racing going on in our region this weekend there are still some things for fans so see and attend.     This week’s racing has a mix of two- and four-wheel action in our region. The Fernley Lion’s Motocross Track will be in action as MRANN ends its spring desert-racing season. It’s the annual Corey Herring Memorial race but this time in a short track configuration.   On Saturday, from 8 to 10 a.m. the big bikes can practice then at 10:30 a.m. the Pee Wee riders take center stage.     Octane Fest brings color and speed to Fallon. The Octane Fest rolls into Fallon this weekend for three days and evenings of action packed motorsports. In addition two regional tracks will also be staging their own races. On Friday evening at 7 p.m. the Lovelock Speedway hosts another points race while, up at Susanville, at that same time Diamond Mountain Speedway, located at the fairgrounds, will also be in action.     What’s racing this weekend is packed days of motorsport action that has something for almost anybody. If the weather holds local race fans are in for a treat.     This weekend’s racing will be a little less frantic that it was on Memorial Day Sunday. But there still is a pretty good variety for fans to choose from.   This afternoon there is a special event for youngsters. The AC/DC Bike Camp has demonstration rides at the Double Diamond Athletic Club.     This week’s racing has something for just about any type of racing fan. The biggest event in our area this weekend is the second round of the Over The Hill Gang Nationals hosted by the Reno chapter. Two days of racing, starting around 9 a.m. Saturday and Sunday, at the Fernley Lions Motocross or the Sandbox as it’s also known. And there will be the traditional BBQ after the races on Saturday.
