    It’s finally here, the long wait is over as it’s the start of season when motors roar and the green flags wave. Racing preview this time has a host of events that one can view as well as the first race in our area to get this season started. East of Fernley and 10 miles north of the Nightingale exit on I-80 is where the Trail Blazers motorcycle club will host the first MRANN race of the year.     Even though there’s not much racing going on there is a major desert event this week. RENO (Feb. 3) – The Racing Preview for this week is still sparse but there is some action to be watched. Locally Livfast Exit 28 Motocross Track should have its usual practice sessions from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. And a special shout out for two area drivers heading to Yuma, Arizona.     Racing is beginning to heat up and locally we’re almost to our first event of the year. This week’s Racing Preview is a mixed bag that contains the first major race in the country, TV and Internet as well as a serious part.       Racing preview this week has two motocross events listed as well as where to find the updates on this year’s Dakar Rally. While there is less than a month from the start of racing in our area there are two motocross races in California that area riders will be traveling to. Locally Livfast Exit 28 will host practice sessions from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.     Racing preview for this week still has a varied menue of live and delayed events including the final race in our region that brings racing in Northwest Nevada to a close. The curtain comes down on racing in our region this weekend. The final race in this fall’s Motocross Series will be held in Winnemucca. Practice runs from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Saturday then at 9 a.m. Sunday the first motos are scheduled to begin.     Racing preview still has a variety of events for the race fan even this late in the year. As the season winds down there are still a couple of events to go in our region. This weekend MRANN will stage its final race of the season outside of Winnemucca. As usual things start at 9:30 a.m. Saturday followed by the Women/Mini Bikes/Bomber race.
