Another varied Racing Preview for this weekend with several events, live as well as broadcast on TV or streamed over the Internet. Friday and Saturday is a busy time as Nor Cal Rock Racing, which runs the VORRA series brings the Metal Cloak Shoot Out to the Wild West Motorsports Park. Racing is on Saturday and, like last year, there should be some Ultra 4 entries to round out the field. Saturday is also busy with several live events. Another great weekend of racing is here. Once again Racing Preview has something for almost every type of racing fan, from live events to attend to racing on TV and streamed on the Internet. If the weather doesn’t throw a spanner in the works the Leroy Kay Memorial Race at American Valley Speedway is this Friday and Saturday. This week’s Racing Preview gets off to a slow start then snowballs into an action packed weekend, both live as well as on TV and the Internet. The biggest event in our area is the annual Virginia City Grand Prix, a two-day event that challenges riders from all across the west. Racing begins at 10 a.m. Saturday and Sunday with the start being on the main street while the pit area is at the south end of town. This weeks Racing Preview has a host of events to watch both in person as well as on TV and the Internet. Now that the Easter holiday is over things are ramping up to full speed. Locally the major event is a round of the Old Timers Nationals held at the Fernley/Wadsworth Lion’s Motocross track, or the Sandbox as most know it by. Due to the Easter weekend this Racing Preview is a bit on the thin side although there are some live events to be seen on TV, Internet and locally. The big race in our area is the Sabio Gonzalez Memorial Race at Rattlesnake Raceway, located just east of downtown Fallon. The event honors long time race supporter and the father of the Gonzalez brothers. Racing preview for this week has three different events in our area plus a bunch on TV and the Internet. Things begin to wind up Friday evening as Rattlesnake Raceway in Fallon hosts its annual car show at Stockman’s Casino. Hours are from 6 p.m. until 9 and it’s a great way to see some of the cars before the season begins. On Saturday the track begins its season. Racing Preview for this week has a major local event plus one in Las Vegas that has a Gardnerville native competing in it. The preview also has what’s on TV as well as the Internet. First a serious matter. Last year’s Virginia City Grand Prix pro champion Tucker Larrieu had a bad get off last weekend and is in ICU at Renown Medical Center. Saw him Wednesday and it appears he’ll be there through the weekend. Visiting hours are after noon and he’s in the Sierra Tower. After that he will be moved and may spent another seek at Renown.

While there’s not much racing here this weekend there is plenty other events happening plus a special local show celebrating its 50th anniversary. As spring approaches more and more racing gets going as racers take to the tracks. Racing preview for this weekend has another event in our area, another over the hill in California plus a bunch on TV and Internet. The second race of MRANN’s season is the Battle at Blue Wing Flat. This week we have the not so good, very good, wild and things in the “Rerun Zone.” Racing Preview for this week has some bad news for area motocross riders, at least for now. Weather has taken a toll on events but one classic “twice-around-the-clock” event is on tap for the weekend. Racing Preview has the altered schedule for several motocross tracks as well as what will be on TV and the Internet this weekend.
