    RENO, NV (Dec. 29) — As we say good by to one year and welcome a New Year there are a few things happening. Next weekend however racing begins in earnest for open wheel and motocross fans.  CAR MEETS: • While not exactly a car meet there is a benefit for an area driver.     RENO, NV (Dec. 22) — It’s Christmas weekend so almost everything is at a stand still.   • RACING PREVIEW: DECEMBER 16 TO 19

    RENO, NV (Dec. 15)— We’ll there are still a couple of things plus some MX practice, at least on our side of the mountains. As far as TV goes we’re deep in the Re-Run Zone for the next few weeks.  CAR MEETS: • The Nevada Jeep Club gets things going Saturday with the Carson City Christmas Convoy and Parade of Lights. The assembly point is on the frontage road by Carson Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep and Ram.  They want everyone there by 4:30 p.m. then the parade starts at 5 p.m. and proceeds north up Carson Street to Bullys.     RENO, NV (Dec. 8) — This week’s Racing Preview has more car meets, parade of lights as well as some racing. On the TV side we are almost 100% into the Re-Run Zone but that ends a month from now.  CAR MEETS/LIGHT PARADES: • Friday has two light parades to choose from.  Here in Reno the Hills Angels 4X4 club is staging the 2nd Annual Reno Light Parade.     RENO, NV (Dec. 1) — A very full weekend as both car and motorcycle clubs join forces to help disadvantaged children in our area.     RENO, NV (Nov. 10) — It’s Veteran’s Day weekend and another professional series will crown its champions on Sunday.     RENO, NV (Nov. 6) — First and foremost, remember we go off Daylight Savings Time Saturday night.     RENO, NV (Oct. 27) — It’s Nevada Day weekend, also Halloween. In our region there will be several car shows, a parade as well as an oval track race plus more on TV to watch.  CAR MEETS: • On Saturday the Nevada Day parade begins at 10 a.m. in Carson City. There should be several car groups in the parade.     RENO, NV (Oct 21) — Although things are winding down as winter approaches there are still car meets, a major race in our area  plus some drifting as well as races on TV and the Internet.  CAR MEETS: • Locally Sparks Cars & Coffee will have a meet on Sunday by Buffalo Wild Wings.      RENO, NV (Oct.13) — As racing winds down it’s a bit slim this weekend but there are car meets, a new motocross track opening and still a bunch on TV to watch.     RENO, NV (Sept. 29) — First weekend of fall and things are bit slow as we move away from summer. The Indy Car series is over, both NASCAR and NHRA are heading toward the championship rounds of their respective seasons.     RENO, NV (Sept. 22) — Autumn has begun and that means local racing is winding down, except for motorcycles, and professional series are heading toward their championships. Also car meets and cruises are mostly on the weekends now. CAR & MOTORCYCLE MEETS: • Biggest event of the weekend is Street Vibrations – Fall Rally, it turns this area into Sturgis West.
