RENO (March 28) – Racing Preview for this Easter/Passover week has a few local events as well as tracks that are opening up and starting their seasons. Things are slim to none on the National and International scene. Rattlesnake Raceway in Fallon gets things rolling starting at 6 p.m. Friday with their annual car show at Stockman’s Casino. There will be racecars as well as streetcars on display. Then Saturday things at the Raceway begin at 3 p.m. when the Outlaw Karts start racing while the cars begin racing at 6 .m. on a day that should have beautiful weather.

RENO (March 26) – Looking ahead into the new 2018 I’m highlighting two groups highlighted in this article. One is the Northern Nevada Kart Club and the other is the Nevada Pro Stock Association; both have something in common, new presidents and boards. The new president for the Northern Nevada Kart Club or NNKC is Rodney Rivera. “We have a complete new board with fresh new faces,” he said. “Right now we’re getting the club back on track paper work wise and structurally as some things maybe have gone by the wayside in the past 10 or 15 years.” He

Season preview for this week highlights our region’s oval tracks. Despite the storms, rain, snow and maybe mud, their seasons will start within the next two months. So right now drivers and their crews/helpers are working to get their cars and Outlaw Karts ready to go. Before racing begins the tracks host tune and testing days, also called Play Days so drivers can get their edge back. Also it gives rookies a chance to see how their rides are and improve their skills. Depending on the weather the Winnemucca Regional Speedway starts off with a Play Day on Saturday March

Even at this late date there is still racing to see or watch. Racing preview for this weekend reflects the shrinking of events as series are winding up. While the pickings are getting slimmer in the two-wheeled world the racing is still hot and heavy. The big event this weekend will be when MRANN makes its annual visit to Moon Rocks for the Halloween Hare Scrambles presented by the Rimbenders and Cheaters Motorcycle Clubs.
