    AMERICAN VALLEY SPEEDWAY: DOUBLE HEADER QUINCY, CALIF (July 20) – This weekend American Valley Speedway ran the Gordon Peard Trucking double header. All classes had two nights of sometimes wild racing on this oval. There was an added bonus for the IMCA Modified drivers as the winner each night got to pocket $1,000. Needless to say there was some excitement on the track and turned Saturday’s main into a wild affair.   • FERNLEY 95A SPEEDWAY: HOT NIGHT OF RACING

    FERNLEY, NV (July 13) – Summer’s heat and a strong wind were challenges when Fernley 95A Speedway began its latest race. Keeping the track surface moist and not dry kept the track crew busy during the heat races. Despite this the program continued and drivers gave the fans some good racing. When the 13-car IMCA field took the green Malen Gonzalez took off with Cory Sample and James Thibodeaux in hot pursuit.     LOVELOCK, NV (JULY 6) – While the car count was less than expected on a money night the racing still went on at the Lovelock Speedway. Fans present were treated to good weather and some hot racing. After the IMCA main winner Cory Sample, who was appearing in this third race in as many days said, “It’s been at least over a year to be sure but it’s good to be back.     FERNLEY, NV (June 29) – Although the car count was a bit low, Fernley 95A Speedway hosted a good night of racing for the fans. And great weather made it a wonderful evening. When the 13-car IMCA field got the green Barry Stone was on point but soon had Robert Miller after him.     FALLON, NV (June 22) – Rattlesnake Raceway hosted its fifth scheduled race of the season. Visiting were the Northern Nevada Winged Sprints as well as the Dwarf Cars. This time the weather cooperated and set the stage for some great racing in this bullring. During the heat races the track dried out so much dust was a problem when the sprint cars were out there.     FERNLEY, NV (JUNE 15) – Fernley 95A Speedway hosted the Nevada Pro Stock Association’s opening round as well as the 4th Buehn Hobby Stock Classic. For the Hobby Stocks it was a chance to pocket $1,000 if they could win. The feature race of the night was actually run in two parts. It was the Buehn 4th annual Hobby Stock Classic, which paid the winner $1,000 and second place $500 with the rest of the field getting what the track usually pays.     LOVELOCK, NV (May 11) – Despite a low car count the decision was made to go racing and race they did. Helping was Mother Nature setting the stage with great weather. This was the first scheduled visit by the Northern Nevada Winged Sprints but only six of them showed up. Sadly the driveline in Bob Cooney’s car came off during the heat race and ended his night.     QUINCY, CA (May 4/5) – This weekend the Western States Dwarf Car Nationals visited American Valley Speedway located in Feather River Country. The event is the sixth annual Dave Richardson and Leroy Kay Memorial Race, named after two drivers lost their lives about seven years ago.
