    FERNLEY, NV (Aug. 15) – After a two-month lay off to refurbish seating in the grandstands the oval at 95 Motor Sports Complex was in action again. In addition to the regular classes a new one the Bootlegger was added, which is a push to pass division that runs on a soaked track.   • DIAMOND MOUNTAIN SPEEDWAY: I-80 CHALLENGE

    SUSANVILLE, CA (Aug.8) – The I-80 Challenge series along with the Dwarf Cars visited Diamond Mountain Speedway this weekend. The result was two days of racing on this dirt bullring. Saturday’s IMCA A main winner almost didn’t come to the event.     RENO, NV (8-3-2020) – This weekend Rattlesnake Raceway held the current round of the I-80 Challenge. In addition there are other news worthy things going on in the world of motor sports.     SUSANVILLE, CA (July 4) – Celebrating Independence Day the Diamond Mountain Speedway hosted two-days of racing. Saturday’s action ended with a huge fireworks show above the track.     FERNLEY, NV (June 13) – First day race of the season drew an expected small field to the oval at 95 Motor Sport Complex. This was due to the season opening race in Susanville. No matter as the racing was intense and the Hobby Stock main provided many thrills for the fans, it was a case of saving the last for best.   • RATTLESNAKE RACEWAY: SEASON OPENER

    FALLON, NV (June 6) – Rattlesnake Raceway opened it’s 2020 season with a two-day show that included the latest round of the I-80 Challenge. Although Saturday’s winds were a bit challenge that didn’t slow down the racing. After the A Modified race winner Jake Mayden, from Springfield, Oregon said, “It was a bit eventful, kind of got torn up in the beginning. We’re just trying to find our own groove and mind our own business. Got into third and got in clear traffic, I felt I was gaining on the leaders and the caution came out at the right time.

    FERNLEY, NV (May 29) – New owners and warm weather greeted fans and racers as the season began at the 95 Motor Sports Complex. The car count was good including 26 A mods ready to do battle on this dirt oval.   • SEASON ENDING BBMX RACE

    FERNLEY, NV (Nov. 10) – The final race for our region was held at the Fernley-Wadsworth Lion’s Motocross Track this weekend. Hosting the event was the Reno Chapter of the Over The Hill Gang and it marked the end of the BBMX season. The turnout was pretty good and a couple of the classes either had virtually or full gates in face one class had 31 riders at the gate. Helping the show was great racing weather. The big winner of the day was Casey Carmichael, who won in Schoolboy, 125/250 Intermediate as well as in 250/450 Intermediate. Several times

  • TWO-DAY SHOOTOUT AT 95A SPEEDWAY

    FERNLEY, NV (Oct 12) — The season ending event at 95A Speedway was a two-day shootout. Two complete shows one Saturday evening and the second Sunday afternoon. At Saturday’s driver meeting Gene Kay made an emotional announcement about his father passing the previous week. About two months ago Kay lost his mother so it’s been a sad time for him.     FALLON, NV (Oct 6) – The 33rd annual Dirt Track Championship closes out the season for Rattlesnake Raceway. It’s two shows in two days where a driver’s combined finishes determine their spot in the overall championship. As an added attraction was the final round of this year’s I-80 Challenge series, that goes across Northern Nevada.     FALLON, NV (Sept. 21) – Rattlesnake Raceway closed its 2019 regular season this weekend. It was the night when championships were secured and celebrations began. After winning the Hobby Stock main the new class champion Chris Cristiano said, “Its been a heck of a run all season, couldn’t ask for a better track our here at Rattlesnake.     LOVELOCK, NV (Aug. 3) – Every year this small rural Nevada town celebrates its founding with Frontier Days, which is a festival by the court house and a parade on Saturday.
