  • DIAMOND MOUNTAIN SPEEDWAY STARTS SEASON

    SUSANVILLE, CALIF. (April 3) — Diamond Mountain Speedway opened its 2021 season with a Friday/Saturday show on Easter weekend. Good car counts, fans in the stands were a positive sign for the upcoming season. Before the main events began there was an Easter Egg hunt on the infield. Dozens of plastic colored eggs were put out as youngsters from the stands and pits converged on the area. Many carried Easter baskets and on the signal the rush was on.   • RENO CARS & COFFEE AT THE HUMAN BEAN

    RENO, NV (March 21) — Reno Cars & Coffee moved it’s third weekend of the month meet to the Human Bean Coffee stand. Its located by the corner of Moana and Keitzke Lane, very close to the freeway and the turn out was massive. At these meets several will bring older cars, ones they give new life to.   • NORCAL STARTS SXS SEASON AT FERNLEY

    FERNLEY, NV (MAR. 13) — Norcal Rock Racing began its season with an event presented by California Custom Trailers and Power Sports. The even was for the SxS series and there was a good turn out and great weather. After a pair of heat races and some track maintenance everyone was ready to go. First on track were the youth classes and one group even had a 7-year-old driving.     RENO, NV (Feb. 23) – Announcements for some changes start this weekend’s Racing Preview. A little less racing than last weekend but the season is just getting started so there is more to come starting in March.     RENO, NV (Feb. 7) – As usual Reno Cars & Coffee got the month rolling with its first weekend car meet. The event was blessed by great weather and a huge turn out. Reno C&C head Lance Freitas said it might be the largest meet they’ve had. There were cars of ever type in fact one row was mainly Corvettes while another had a good selection of Subarus while others had a mix of many different cars.   • OVAL TRACK REVIEW: PART 2

    RENO, NV (Dec.21, 2020) – Need one more look back at the 2020 Oval Track season. This time won’t have many pictures but there is some news to report. Diamond Mountain Speedway, like other tracks had a stop-and-start to the season. However there were enough events to crown class champions at the season’s end although for many races spectators weren’t allowed. Looking at the IMCA Modified ranks Ryan McDaniel earned the crown witeh 258 points while local Riley Simmons was second with 251 or a scant seven points.   • SEASON ENDING RACES: 95 MOTOR SPORTS COMPLEX

    FERNLEY, NV (Oct 11) – A Two-Day Show ended the 2020 season at the 95 Motor Sports Complex this weekend. The first day was Saturday evening while the second day began at noon and ended just as the sun was going down. The honor of ending the racing year fell to the IMCA Modifieds and prior the start they did a 4-wide salute to the fans..   • RATTLESNAKE HOSTS NORTHERN NEVADA MODIFIED TOUR

    FALLON, NV (AUG.21) – Rattlesnake Raceway hosted the first stop on the new Northern Nevada Modified Tour. There were good fields during the night as well  IMCA and Northern Sport Modifieds. The tour is a marathon of four races over three days at four different tracks. And the big prize is a provisional at this year’s Duel in the Desert. It took three heat races to set the 22-car main event.
