Racing preview for this week is a mix of local events, like oval track and desert racing plus a event for kids on bikes. And TV as well as what’s on the Internet is also covered. This week drivers at another short track are in their stretch run plus a desert series begins its fall season. 95A SPEEDWAY’S STRETCH RUN HAS BEGUN AND DRIVERS ARE FOCUSED ON GAINING AS MANY POINTS AS POSSIBLE OR LOCKING IN TITLES. FERNLEY (Sept. 5) – Drivers on Saturday at the 95A Speedway were greeted by a smooth, fast track. RACING PREVIEW – AUG. 3-7
Racing preview for this week has something for just about every race fan. And one traditional event, not returned to its original venue is doing something special to honor the sport’s history. With Labor Day weekend here, one regional track is ending its 2015 season while another is continuing on. With few races left in the season points are becoming critical for many drivers. Fernley 95A Speedway hosts its second race in as many weeks, starting at 6 p.m. Saturday and all the car classes will be in action. RACING PREVIEW – AUGUST 27-30
Racing preview for this weekend is again a menu of varied motosport events both in our region, on TV and the Internet. This weekend Fallon is the site of two very different events. The biggest is probably the VORRA/Ultra 4 Regional race known as the Fallon 250 and the pit area is east of Fallon around Salt Wells. Registration is on Friday, at Stockman’s Casino from 1 to 5 p.m. and competitors can inspect the course but at their own risk. Then at 6 a.m. Saturday production classes, 9, 11 and Full Metal start with a time limit of 9-hours.

LUCAS OIL AT WILD WEST – SUNDAY
Lucas Oil Off Road races got pretty crazy during the second day of the series visit to Northern Nevada. MUSTANG (Aug. 23) – The second day of the Lucas Oil Off Road races at the Wild West Motorsports Park was a wild afternoon of hard racing and a bit more mayhem than Saturday had. MACCACHREN READY FOR WILD WEST
Going into this weekend’s Lucas Oil Off Road Series race at Wild West Motorsports Part, Rob MacCachren leads the Pro 2 points. With only two events left after this weekend, its critical for drivers to earn every point they can. To MacCachren, who drives the Rockstar Energy entry, this race is important as he’s only 28 markers ahead of Bryce Menzies. Racing preview for this weekend has something for almost any racing fan. Including a special event that will only happen once this year in our area. Locally oval track fans have three choices but there are two other events going on as well in a weekend filled with motor sports. AMERICAN VALLEY FAIR RACES
American Valley Speedway traditionally has races on the last day of the Plumas County Fair. QUINCY (Aug. 16) – Folks on Sunday can enjoy what the fair has to offer then go right next door to the speedway and watch an evening of racing. 95A SPEEDWAY REPORT
95A Speedway has another night of hard racing as points are becoming very important plus one race that has an extra bonus for the winner. This week’s races at the 95A Speedway have many incentives for drivers as one was trying to score his first victory of the year, after a winning season last year. Racing preview for this week includes regional action as well as what will be on TV and the Internet. Two regional tracks are in action this week with programs that should be full of hard racing. Fernley 95A Speedway begins their show Saturday at 6 p.m. and this week, during intermission, there will be Compact Car Hockey as well drawings to give some lucky kids in the crowd bicycles. DOUBLE POINTS AT RATTLESNAKE
Double points always insure there will be plenty of action during the races. And the Hobby Stock division proved that saying correct. FALLON (July 8) – Double points were on the line at Rattlesnake Raceway this weekend and a large field of Hobby Stocks were on hand to race for those points. The IMCA field was small due to a two-day race south in Tonopah.
