    Miller did something almost unheard of in short track racing as he won three championships in a single season. FERNLEY – For most drivers winning one championship in a career is a huge accomplishment. To win three in one season is a dream come true.       RATTLESNAKE HONORS ITS CHAMPIONS AT AN ANNUAL FEAST. FALLON (Oct. 16) – Rattlesnake Raceway ends its year with the awards banquet. Trophies are awarded and the class champions are honored as are others receiving special awards. After the potluck buffet everyone settled down and enjoyed the feast.     The Two Day Show at the 95A Speedway is an annual happening, of the wild kind. FERNLEY (Oct. 10/11) – The racing year ends at Fernley 95A Speedway with an annual two-day show. It’s always been a wild show full of action, carnage, speed and this year was like the last ones. Saturday is reserved for heat races and mains for the two smallest classes.     Championship Night was delayed due to rain so the track moved the main events to a night where it didn’t rain.   • RACING PREVIEW: OCT. 1-4

    Racing preview for this week is a buffet of different types of racing, live, on TV and the Internet. There is a varied menu for racing fans in this area with three different live events to fill the weekend. On Saturday afternoon the Northern Nevada Kart will bring down the curtain on their season with the annual night race at Desert Park Raceway. Practice begins around 4 p.m. and after qualifying racing will begin as they roar into the night. Any championships that are up for grabs will be decided by the time the final checkered flag waves. It was mentioned on various posts that Stewart Dawson in Rare Bear had declared a Mayday. While I thought it might be true turns out it actually never happened.
