FERNLEY (July 29 – After being dark since last fall the Fernley 95A Speedway came alive this weekend. The event was round 10 of the Sprint Car Challenge, which usually races in the Northern California region. Not only did the event attract what may have been the largest crowd of fans to the track and 27 sprint car teams as well as five Midgets from the Bay Cities Racing Association (BCRA) were on hand. QUINCY, CALIF (JULY 22) – The American Valley Speedway had a two-day show one week after the Pro Stocks visited. Saturday was a night of some hard racing, with more cars than usual and a wild IMCA feature. One reason was that Lovelock cancelled its race so several of those planning on racing there made the tow to Quincy and raced here. STEAD (July 23) – Desert Park Raceway was alive this Sunday as the Northern Kart Club held its latest points. Although attendance was down a bit those present put on some good races and there was even a special race between two different shifter karts. AMERICAN VALLEY SPEEDWAY: NPSA’S SECOND VISIT
QUINCY, CALIFORNIA (July 15) – American Valley Speedway hosted the second visit this season of the Nevada Pro Stock Association (NPSA). These speedsters rounded out a show that included all four of the regular classes. While the Pro Stocks were the stars of the show it was the IMCA Modifieds that put on the race of the night. LOVELOCK SPEEDWAY: POINTS RACE #4
Lovelock (July 8) – Lovelock Speedway hosts its latest points race on a hot day with thunderstorms in the area. But this time Mother Nature smiled on the track, well except for just a bit. RATTLESNAKE RACEWAY 4TH OF JULY RACES
FALLON (July 4) – Rattlesnake Speedway hosted its traditional Independence Day races as well as the town’s fireworks show. It was an evening with fireworks on the ground as well as in the sky. The Mod Mini division put on the race of the night. When the green waved Suzi Schmidt was on point with Steve Singley giving chase. Things changed when Schmidt spun out of the lead in Turn 4. This weekend there was a special first time visitor to a track in our region. QUINCY, CALIF. (June 3) – American Valley Speedway entertained their first visit by the Nevada Pro Stock Association (NPSA). For the pro stocks it was the Steven “Pops,” Rauscher Memorial race. RENO (May 31) —Racing preview this week picks up after last weekend’s marathon. And the beat goes on as there are two very different major races in our region as well as the regular events. LOVELOCK SPEEDWAY OPENS 2017 SEASON
LOVELOCK, NV (May 26) – After being rained out two weeks ago Lovelock Speedway finally got its season going. Unlike the earlier date the car count was pretty slim but the track when ahead and opened its 2017 season. After the dust settled on the IMCA main winner K.C. RACING PREVIEW: MAY 11 TO 14
Another varied Racing Preview for this weekend with several events, live as well as broadcast on TV or streamed over the Internet. Friday and Saturday is a busy time as Nor Cal Rock Racing, which runs the VORRA series brings the Metal Cloak Shoot Out to the Wild West Motorsports Park. Racing is on Saturday and, like last year, there should be some Ultra 4 entries to round out the field. Saturday is also busy with several live events. To the east Rattlesnake Raceway is in action with a 6 p.m. start to racing that also includes the Outlaw Karts.
