FALLON, NV (Oct. 5) — For the 38th time Rattlesnake Raceway ended its season with the Dirt Track Championships. While it is a two-day affair there is a big difference. A driver’s combined finishes are used to determine how they placed in the DTC. The driver that has the best record gets the trophy, is named their class Dirt Track Champion and has a year’s worth of bragging rights. FALLON, NV (SEPT. 14) — This weekend Rattlesnake Raceway honored the memory of long time racer Alan Dias, whose family also races. It was a full program for both days. Saturday’s show began when the field lined up on the track prior to a memorial lap to honor Dias. On the front row were three cars raced by family members. SUSANVILLE, CALIF. (Sept. 1) — Diamond Mountain Speedway ended its regular season with a two-race program on Labor Day Weekend. After a full set of heats and mains on Saturday at the Sunday show, only the Mini Stocks had a heat race but the other four classes had a 6-lap dash for cash plus their mains. FALLON, NV (Aug. 10) — While many were celebrating Hot August Nights in Reno and Sparks others were either racing or spectating at Rattlesnake Raceway. Not far out of downtown the Lovelock Speedway has two nights called the Frontier Days Races. RENO, NV (JULY 21) — Lovelock Speedway had the next round of its season with a two-day show this weekend. Despite some occasional light rain the show went on. LOVELOCK, NV (June 22) — Despite the heat the Lovelock Speedway had two days of racing this weekend. On Saturday, in addition to the two classes present the Sierra Nevada Sprint Car series visited the track. Car counts were a little low as the IMCA Touring series was in Tonopah this weekend. But there were Hobby Stocks and Gen-X to round out the show. After getting things going the sprint cars went out and qualifying. QUINCY, CALIFORNIA (June 15) — This weekend West Coast Pro Stocks made its first visit to Quincy Speedway. The event was the Pearson Family Memorial Race and two of the regular classes were there to support the program. There was a bit of computer problems so another laptop had to be summoned. QUINCY, CALIF. (May 11) — This weekend Quincy, Speedway started its season by hosing the annual Western States Dwarf Car Nationals. It was round three of this year’s series. Before the racing began the entire Dwarf Car field assembled on the track for parade laps. They honor those lost and the event has been known as the Richardson-Kay Memorial. This year it also honored Loretta Christiano, who was lost last year as well as one of Vukie Wilson’s family. As a special treat, after the heat races there was a trick or treat session for the youngsters on the front straight. FALLON, NV (OCT 7) — This year the 37th Annual Dirt Track Championships was a two-night affair with racing Friday and Saturday. Nine classes were racing for wins and the class championships based on a driver’s finishes for both nights. First on the racing card were the Dwarf Cars and seven of took the green with Ryan Parkhurst briefly on point.
