COLD SPRINGS, NEVADA (June 2) — Whatever MC hosted the current round of the 2024 MRANN season. The location was north of Reno and the event was named “Whoops, Washes and Whatever.” Since the long course was about 19-miles long Sunday was organized differently than most MRANN classes. The Pros, Experts and Amateur, who lined in rows depending on the class they were racing in had two motos. LOVELOCK, NV (April 7) — Mason Valley Dirt Squirts staged the third round, called the Mazuma 100, of the 2024 MRANN season. The pits and finish were located at the Lovelock Speedway and the start was about a half mile away. The classes were broken down into various groups with the AA pros starting first. It took seven rows to get every one started as they roared toward the hills. At the end of the first lap two AA pro riders were battling for the lead. NIGHTINGALE, NV (Feb. 18)— Trailblazers MC hosted round 2 of the 2024 MRANN season. This time Mother Nature blessed Sunday with great weather. The event was the Ridge Runner 100, which was the 26th Annual Hare & Hound. Unlike previous years and due to the recent weather the race made two laps around the same 46-mile course. MRANN AT BLUE WING FLATS
BLUE WING FLATS, NEVADA (Oct 1) — Under a gray sky with some light showers Austin Serpa made a dramatic come from behind victory. The weather insured there was no dust although it was foggy at the top of the hills due to some low clouds. Sunday was the big bike day and a 50-mile long loop facing the riders. As usual to be classed as a finisher one had to complete one full lap. At the starting line there were 88 riders divided in their respective groups. The new AA Class had six riders and they compete for money.

MRANN RABBIT RAMPAGE ON EASTER
LOVELOCK, NV (April 9) — The Mason Valley Dirt Squirts celebrated Easter with the Rabbit Rampage. The two-day event was located at the Lovelock Speedway. As usual the new Big Bike Pro (AA) class led the charge on Sunday. For a rider to be classed as a finisher they had to complete one full 50-mile lap although many others did the full two laps. FIRE AND ICE 100 STARTS SEASON FOR MRANN
NIGHTINGALE, NV (Feb. 19) — This weekend Trail Blazers MC started the 2023 season for MRANN. As traditional the Hare & Hound event was staged north of the Nightingale exit on I-80, which is east of Fernley. This season there have been some changes in MRANN and one of them was a new Pro Class for the Big Bikes. NIGHTINGALE, NV (Feb. 20) – The Trail Blazers Motorcycle Club opened MRANN”s 2022 season with the Return of the Lost Llama event, two days of racing on the desert. Pretty good weather set the stage for two days of hard racing. The Big Bike event on Sunday marked the return of a veteran. MRANN: HALLOWEEN AT NIGHTINGALE
NIGHTINGALE, NV (Nov. 1) – A long time tradition was observed this weekend as the Tank Slappers Motor Cycle club staged the most recent round in the MRANN series. This race always falls on the Nevada Day/Halloween weekend. Warm dry weather greeted the big bike racers Sunday and they used a Le Mans start to get things going. Each class has a separate start and riders would prop their bikes with either a stake or kickstand if they had one. SPARKS, NV (Jan. 5) – Saturday’s Awards Banquet was for the Motorcycle Racing Association of Northern Nevada, or MRANN as its known. IT was a time to honor class and overall champions. Half way into the awards banquet there were two emotional segments. The first honored a man that helped many adults when they were young racers. COREY HERRING MEMORIAL AT HONEY LAKE
After being dark for several years a popular motocross park reopens with a special race. MILFORD, CALIF. (June 19) – MRANN (Motorcycle Racing Association of Northern Nevada) made its return to the newly reopened Honey Lake MX Park this weekend. It was the annual Corey Herring Memorial “Go Big or Go Home!” race. The event honors the young rider lost eight years ago and helps fund scholarships created in his name. RACING PREVIEW: APRIL 7 TO 10
This week there is racing live, on TV and the Internet. Racing preview for this week has a mix of events for both the two-wheel and oval track fans. Once again there will be no practice at the Livfast Exit 28 motocross track as they are preparing for their next race. Fernley 95A Speedway will host its second race of the season Saturday with a 2 p.m. start time. All the car classes will be in action on the oval. Motocross racers competing in the 775 Spring Classic Series will head for Winnemucca for the third round of their series.

MRANN AT BLUE WATER FLAT
Desert motorcycle racers came together to race in the second event of the new season. When MRANN set up shop at Blue Water Flat, located northwest of Toulon, the lakebed was dry. Last year it rained so the area was unusable but this time Mother Nature provided almost perfect weather.
