LASSEN MC RACES AT FT. SAGE
DOYLE, CALIF (April 13) – Lassen MC staged the third round of MRANN’s 2019 season. It was the Della Alosi Memorial Hare Scrambles and the site was the Ft. Sage OHV area outside of Doyle, California. Weather in this region has been very iffy but Mother Nature smiled on the event. The good weather brought 104 riders to test the 28-mile long circuit and only nine of them failed to complete at least two laps. OLD TIMER NATIONAL STIRS UP THE SANDBOX
FERNLEY, NV (April 7) – The local chapter of the Old Timers hosted a round of their national series at the Sandbox this weekend. Its formally known as the Fernley/Wadsworth Lion’s Motocross track and Mother Nature smiled on the event with great weather. Saturday is the long day as riders raced in three motos while on Sunday there are only two motos. The riders ranged from the youngsters in their 40’s to an 84-year old and all of them gave it their best. At the top of the age group there were three classes with 70 year olds as well

MOTOCROSS SEASON GETS ROLLING
RENO, NV (March 21) – Motocross season began at the Sandbox, or the Fernley/Wadsworth Motocross Track on St. Patrick’s Day. New is the key word this time, the season, track layout and scoring system. This year the track layout was changed and moved to the west. Seems part of the old track might have been on federal land and the new layout does seem a bit faster. BATTLE BORN MX ENDS SEASON AT THE SANDBOX
FERNLEY, NV (11-18) – Battle Born MX ended its 2018 season here at the Sandbox or the Fernley/Wadsworth Lions Club Motocross Track. Nice weather highlighted a good day of racing. Due to the fires in Northern California and a race being postponed there, several racers came to Fernley expanding the rider total to 334 for Sunday. MRANN ENDS SEASON AT NIGHTINGALE
NIGHTINGALE, NV (Nov. 11) – MRANN, Motorcycle Racing Association of Northern Nevada, ended its 2018 season east of Fernley off the I-80 Nightingale exit. The Tank Slappers hosted the event under nice but cool weather. The pits are located where the old U.S. 40 pavement ends east of the off ramp. MOON ROCKS VISITED BY ZOMBIE FALLS HARE SCRAMBLES
MOON ROCKS, NV (Oct. 28) – Moon Rocks was the site of the latest MRANN race, the Zombie Falls Hare Scrambles. Hosted by the Rim Benders great fall weather brought 111 riders out for the Sunday’s big bike race. BATTLE BORN MX AT THE SANDBOX
FERNLEY, NV (Sept. 30) – Battle Born MX staged round three of its fall series at the Sandbox, or the Fernley/Wadsworth Motocross Track as its officially known. The host club was the Over The Hill Gang and there was a good turn out of riders for a wonderful day of racing. All told there were 363 entries although several riders rode in more than one race. DESERT RACERS OF MRANN RETURN TO LOVELOCK
LOVELOCK, NV (Sept. 23) – After 14 years the desert racers of MRANN returned to Lovelock thanks to the Mason Valley Dirt Squirts. The club staged the second round of the fall series, the Fix A Flat 100, just outside this rural Nevada town. The big bikes competed over a loop that was somewhere between 46 and 50 miles long. RENO, NV (Sept. 22) – The 2018 Endurocross series visited here this weekend and brought its version of motorized mayhem to the Livestock Events Center. It was a wild night for riders and fans. WESTERN FLAT TRACK VISITS CARSON CITY
CARSON CITY, NV (Aug. 25) – The Western Flat Track series made its third appearance at Fuji Park in Carson City this weekend. Like the other two events it was standing room only for the evening show. The rodeo arena is converted into a short track oval for these races. COREY HERRING MEMORIAL RACE AT HONEY LAKE
MILFORD, CALIF (June 17) – For the past five years MRANN racers have competed in the Corey Herring Memorial Race, which honors a young racer lost on Father’s Day. It’s also known as the “Go Big or Go Home,” race and again it was staged at the Honey Lake Motocross Track. Racing at Honey Lake is always a challenge as it combines motocross sections as well as cross country parts and includes a pretty big hill for the big bikes to negotiate.
