    STEAD, NV (July 26) – Desert Park Raceway echoed with the sound of go kart racing this Sunday. It was the second round of the Northern Nevada Kart Club’s shortened season with plenty of drivers ready to go. During the day five drivers would sweep their classes while at the bottom of the age group a 5-year-old was enjoying his first race.   • DESERT PARK RACEWAY: NNKC SEASON OPENER

    STEAD, NV (June 7) – Desert Park Raceway echoed with the sound of racing as the Northern Nevada Kart Club finally was able to start its 2020 season. It was a cold, windy day and in the end Mother Nature didn’t cooperate. In fact with the weather in mind there were only one set of heats. Then after several weather delays it was time to star the main events. First up were the Kids Kart class and four of these youngest racers took the green flag.     STEAD, NV (Sept. 29) – Despite blustery winds and cold temperatures Desert Park Raceway was alive with the sounds of go kart racing this Sunday.   • DESERT PARK RACEWAY HOSTS FINAL KPX ROUND

    STEAD, NV (Aug 25) – On a hot August day Northern Nevada Kart Club (NNKC) hosted the final round of this year’s KPX series. With many visitors on hand it was a day of hot racing in the late summer heat. After qualifying the drivers all race a pre-event that’s just like a heat race. Their grid positions in the main are determined by how they finished. First up are the youngest drivers in the Kid Kart division.     RENO, NV (July 27) – The annual night race for the Northern Nevada Kart Club (NNKC) is a special event local and visiting drivers look forward to.     STEAD, NV (June 2): Northern Nevada Kart Club was back in action at Desert Park Raceway. With one exception, a small shower during a heat race, weather was almost perfect for a day of hard racing. The final main in Junior 2 was the race of the day as two youngsters put on a good show of hard and clean racing.     STEAD, NV (May 5) – The Northern Nevada Kart Club held the second race of its season at Desert Park Raceway. Mother Nature blessed the event with almost perfect weather for a day of hard racing.     RENO, NV (Nov. 9) – The Northern Nevada Kart Club (NNKC) held its annual awards banquet at the Boomtown Hotel and Casino. Entering the room there was a historical display of photographs, trophies from years gone by and past championship jackets. Another tradition is a cake with the NNKC logo on it. That waited until later in the evening when it was time for desert.     STEAD, NV (Aug. 18) – Desert Park Raceway hosted the final round of this year’s KPX series. Unlike the other rounds it was a night race and the NNKC (Northern Nevada Kart Club) was the host club.     STEAD, NV (July 15) – Desert Park Raceway was the site of the fourth round for this year’s Northern Nevada Kart Club’s season. Warm temperatures didn’t slow down the racers but some bugs did, at least for a while. Early in the day bugs, flying ants, plagued the scoring tower as well as the corner stations. Fortunately Ecolab was summed and they made quick work of the pests but the break morphed into the lunch break.
