Mother Nature blessed the even with great weather and a huge group of people and vehicles showed up. And as usual the vehicles ranged from the exotic to almost ordinary.   • SEASON PREVIEW: OFF ROAD RACING

    RENO, NV (Feb. 15) – All types of racing is starting and it’s time to preview the off-road series. With few exceptions this is the 4-wheel type. Big news last November put a cloud over the sport as Lucas Oil announced it was ending their Off Road Series. Reno C&C head Lance Freitas said it might be the largest meet they’ve had.   • MOTOMEDX: LOOKING OUT FOR RACERS AND RIDERS

    For Steve Clark it’s a combination of the love of riding and his seeing a need for medics at races and rides.     RENO, NV (Jan. 3) – Reno Cars & Coffee took advantage of the good weather to kick off the New Year with their first of the month meet. Lance Freitas, who runs the group, estimated there were between 150 to 200 cars and trucks for people to see. In one area there was kind of a Corvette line with an Audi parked in it.   • A TIME FOR GIVING

    RENO, NV (Dec. 14) – The holidays are a time of giving as people work to help the less fortunate. The Aces High Rally held two toy drives over the past two week to help the Toys for Tots program. This Sunday the location was the Lucky Beaver Bar and Burger on South Virginia Street not far from the Atlantis. One local shop and a car club were sponsors of this effort while Dreu Murin Productions promoted both events.   • TOY RUN SUNDAY PLUS A SEASON REVIEW

    RENO, NV (12-7) – This Sunday two Toy Runs helped area children with their donations. One was for the two-wheeled set while the other group was Reno Cars & Coffee. For the past few weeks Reno Harley Davidson has had a toy drive where people could donate a new unwrapped toy. This was supposed to end with the 40th annual Reno Toy Run staged by the Northern Nevada Confederation of Clubs.     RENO, NV (Aug. 31) – With a racae canceled this weekend it’s time to look ahead to the end of this crazy 2020 season. While motorcycle racing is starting the fall season area oval tracks, Go Karts and drag racing are in their stretch runs.     RENO, NV (Aug.27) – Sadly weather and circumstances have led to a pair of events being canceled. Up on the Comstock, despite changes and other adjustments Virginia City will not issue a permit to hold this year’s Virginia City Grand Prix. To say that’s disappointing would be a huge understatement. The club is working to handle refunds and t-shirt so those should be forth coming in the near future.
