RENO, NV (April 2) — Beautiful weather on Easter Sunday set the stage for Reno Cars & Coffee meet. As usual the first of the month meet was by the Keitzke Starbucks and once again it was a large gathering. These meets area a great way to be around car people or just to see some good looking cars. And as usual the vehicles ranged from the exotic to almost ordinary. While newer cars make up the majority there are some that have breathed new life into older cars. Big news last November put a cloud over the sport as Lucas Oil announced it was ending their Off Road Series. For Steve Clark it’s a combination of the love of riding and his seeing a need for medics at races and rides. RENO, NV (Jan. 3) – Reno Cars & Coffee took advantage of the good weather to kick off the New Year with their first of the month meet. Lance Freitas, who runs the group, estimated there were between 150 to 200 cars and trucks for people to see. In one area there was kind of a Corvette line with an Audi parked in it. RENO, NV (Dec. 14) – The holidays are a time of giving as people work to help the less fortunate. The Aces High Rally held two toy drives over the past two week to help the Toys for Tots program. This Sunday the location was the Lucky Beaver Bar and Burger on South Virginia Street not far from the Atlantis. One local shop and a car club were sponsors of this effort while Dreu Murin Productions promoted both events. Over at one end of the building there was a large stash of toys that kept growing as people stopped by

RENO, NV (12-7) – This Sunday two Toy Runs helped area children with their donations. One was for the two-wheeled set while the other group was Reno Cars & Coffee. For the past few weeks Reno Harley Davidson has had a toy drive where people could donate a new unwrapped toy. This was supposed to end with the 40th annual Reno Toy Run staged by the Northern Nevada Confederation of Clubs. RENO, NV (Nov.15) – Reno Cars & Coffee held its third weekend of the month meet at the Del Real Pub and Grill on Sunday. Bright sunny weather with a nice breeze greeted those that attended. Variety is the theme of these meets. It varies from the two Mclarens to a fixed up VW Bug and everything in between. Much of the work on the cars has been done by the owners and hoods are raised to show off their handiwork with motors. For car people it’s almost like being in a candy store.
