      After almost going extinct one racing class has had new life given to it and is ready for this season. The Nevada Pro Stock Association is ready to get this season rolling. And this year there are more races and should be larger car counts.     Desert motorcycle racers came together to race in the second event of the new season. When MRANN set up shop at Blue Water Flat, located northwest of Toulon, the lakebed was dry. Last year it rained so the area was unusable but this time Mother Nature provided almost perfect weather.     Another season begins with the Desert Fox schooling his younger competitors NIGHTINGALE (Feb. 14.) – As is traditional, MRANN (Motorcycle Racing Association of Northern Nevada) began its season on President’s Day weekend. And a large field of big bike riders showed up for Sunday’s race. This time not only was there speed but some passions were fired up during the event that consisted of one 43-mile loop followed by a 53-mile loop.     One more awards banquet before racing begins in this area. RENO (Feb. 6) – The local Over The Hill Gang chapter held its annual banquet at “Men Wielding Fire,” on Saturday. It was a festive night of food, drink, humor and reflection on the season past as well as a look into the future. And there was a great selection of free prize drawings for club members.
