RENO, NV (April 10) -This week’s Racing Preview has car meets and a cruise, more motorcycle racing and if Mother Nature cooperates the opening of our oval track season.
CARS & CRUISES:
- Saturday at 10 a.m. the Northern Nevada Camaro Club hosts another meet at Summit Racing in Sparks. After everyone shows up the cruise will start.
• Sparks Cars and Coffee at 9 a.m. Sunday hosts its second weekend meet. The location is at Dunkin’ Donuts located by the Sparks Target store.

- Here is a special heads up for a charity ride on April 20th, Easter Saturday. The Silver Barons Motorcycle Club of Nevada is hosting the “Nomads First Easter Basket Ride.”
The meeting place is Reno Harley-Davidson and the function is to benefit the Northern Nevada Children’s Cancer Foundation.
RACING (LOCAL AND REGIONAL):
• This weekend MRANN is at Ft. Sage, outside of Doyle, California. The Della Alosi Memorial Hare and Hound is the usual two-day affair and directions are on the attached poster.
Saturday begins at 9:30 a.m. when the Pee Wees race followed at 11 a.m. by the V-Women, Mini Bikes and Bomber race.
MRANN is action this weekend outside of Doyle, California with the Della Alosi Memorial Hare and Hound.

On Sunday, starting at 10 a.m. is when the big bikes get their turn. Since the course was shortened to 28-miles the winners need to do four laps, to be classed as a finisher a rider must complete two circuits.
• If Mother Nature cooperates Saturday will be a triple header for oval track fans.
To the east the Winnemucca Regional Raceway has a play day Saturday then the season begins at 1 p.m. Sunday.
Lovelock Speedway begins its season with racing slated to start at 11 a.m. so fans want to get there early. The goal is to be done early enough so racers can travel to the next event.
That one, starting at 6 p.m. at Fernley 95A Speedway as they too hope to finally get their racing season started. Should be a great day for oval track racers and fans.
• Over in Northern California its mixed news for the motocross tracks there.
Due to the river rising both E Street and Riverfront have been evacuated and are expected to be under water soon.
However the next round of the Spring Fling is still on for Prairie City. There is a practice session from 3 until 7 p.m. Thursday then from 9 until 2 p.m. Saturday.
Parking and camping opens at 4 p.m. Saturday. Gates open Sunday at 7 a.m., practice starts at 9 a.m. with racing to follow. For further information please call the hotline at 775-265-7223.
MMX Racing should have the same practice schedule as last week from 10 to 3 p.m. Saturday then from 9 until 3 p.m. Sunday. However one should check their hotline at 530-777-9724.
RACING (NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL):
- Not much is happening on Thursday although at 3:30 p.m. www.fanschoice.tv will stream a race from Langley Speedway.
If the reader wants to catch up on some races they missed look for them at www.youtube.com or on www.mavtv.com.
• Racing Preview shows things heating up over on TV Land on Friday. At 4 p.m. Fox Sports 1 broadcasts the Xfinity race from Richmond.
Then at 5:30 p.m. on www.imsa.tv there will be IMSA Weathertech qualifying from Long Beach followed at 6:30 p.m. when Fox Sports 1 has NHRA Friday Night Nitro Live.
• Saturday is the busiest day on Racing Preview.
Looking at TV Land things get rolling at 6:30 a.m. when Fox Sports 2 airs the Formula E race from Rome, Italy.
Then at 1:30 p.m. NBC Sports has the IMSA Weathertech Sports Car Championship from Long Beach followed. Over on Fox Sports 2 they have a Moto America race from Austin, Texas starting at 3:30 p.m.
Fox at 4:30 p.m. has the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup event from Richmond then at 5:30 NBC Sports has AMA Supercross action from Mile High Stadium in Denver.
This weekend the AMA Supercross series is in Denver and here is the track map.

Finally at 11:05 p.m. ESPN 2 broadcasts the Formula 1 race from Shanghai, China.
Switching over to the Internet www.fanschoice.tv at 4:20 a.m. has the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series Elite 1 race from Valencia, Spain followed at 8:05 a.m. with the Elite 2 event. Then at 11 a.m. they stream a GNCC event from Society Hill, South Carolina and end the day at 5:55 p.m. airing a race from Tucson Speedway.
• Sunday on Racing Preview begins at 11 a.m. when Fox Sports 1 airs NHRA Sunday Live. Then at noon Fox broadcasts the final rounds from the Spring Nationals in Houston, Texas.
NHRA is in Houston this weekend for the Spring Nationals.

Switching over to NBC Sports, at 1:30 p.m. the Long Beach Grand Prix for Indy Cars will be shown.It’s the closest thing to Monaco we have here and drivers have to be inch perfect to negotiate between the walls of this street course.
Finally at 1 p.m. Fox Sports 2 goes back to Austin to broadcast the Moto America #2 race.
