RENO, NV (JULY 11) – Another busy Racing Preview full of car shows with some cruising plus racing in our region. And there is a special announcement concerning a local racer.
• CRUISES/CAR SHOWS:
Thursday’s cruise in Carson City, from 5 until 7:30 p.m. starts at Johnny Rockets located at 4600 Snyder. Then on Friday Summit Racing in Sparks, from 6 until 8 p.m. hosts another Cruise In and Show N’ Shine.

Reno Cars and Coffee is at different location this Sunday as it’s the 2nd annual event at Dolan Lexus on South Virginia. As usual the meet runs from 10 a.m. until noon.
Sunday winds up with the DooWop@DoughBoys Cruise night from 5:30 until 9 p.m. and the location is 57 Damonte Ranch Parkway.
• REGIONAL RACING:
The weekend begins south of Fallon as Top Gun Raceway has $5 Fridays starting at 6 p.m. and going until midnight.
Lovelock Speedway will also be in action Friday night with a 7 p.m. start to all the racing on this oval.
Then beginning at 7 p.m. Saturday the drag strip host the Summit ET#7 and Junior Dragster #7 followed by the ET Challenge #3 and Junior Dragster Challenge.
Rattlesnake Raceway hosts another racing Saturday night, starting at 6 p.m. and this time there will be mud drags.
Down in Feather River country that same evening in Quincy, California the American Valley Speedway starts back up again after it’s 4th of July break. As usual racing begins at 7 p.m. with all the car classes.

Once again the Nevada Pro Stock Association is visiting and they will be racing the Richard Wainscott Memorial honoring the series photographer that passed away last year.
• Two-Wheel World:
For the two-wheel fans Reno’s chapter of the Over The Hill Gang is hosting a ride/practice day at the Fernley Lion’s Motocross track. Hours are 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. and join them will be the Battle Born MX series as they hand out awards from this year’s spring series
Over the hill in Northern California a lot is going on at the motocross tracks there.
Riverfront has practice on Thursday from 5 until 10 p.m. then again from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Sunday. The E Street MX Park will also have practice from 9 until 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
MMX also has a ride day Sunday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. on a traditional motocross track with out major jumps.
Prairie City is going to be a busy place this weekend as they have racing on the new Arenacross style track. Friday, for pre-entries only, there is practice from 5 until 10 p.m.

Saturday is race day with gates opening at noon, practice starts at 4 p.m. with racing to follow.
NATIONAL RACING:
This week the three top NASCAR series move to Kentucky and things get started Thursday with “Follow Live,” at 6:06 a.m. with practice sessions.
Then at 2:10 p.m. Fox Sports 1 has Truck qualifying followed by an Xfinity practice session. Finally at 4 :30 p.m. the network broadcasts the Camping World Truck race.
NBC Sports picks up the NASCAR action Friday starting at 9 a.m. with Cup practice sessions. They follow this at 1 p.m. with an American Flat Track race then at 2:05 p.m. with Xfinity qualifying and at 5 p.m. they air the Xfinity race.
Saturday afternoon begins on the Internet as www.fanschoice.tv airs three oval track races starting at 3:30 p.m. with Ladies Night at Berlin Raceway. They follow this with Whelen Night at Meridian Speedway and end with the Saint Leo University night at Langley Speedway.
NASCAR Cup races this weekend at Kentucky.

Back to TV land as at 4: 30 p.m. NBC Sports has the Monster Energy Cup race from Kentucky.
Then at 11 p.m. Fox Sports 1 has the first Formula E race from New York City.
Sunday starts at 9:30 a.m. as Fox Sports 1 has more Formula E action including the second race from New York City.
Indy Cars are on the street at Toronto, Canada this weekend.

Then at 12:30 p.m. NBC Sports has the Indy Car race from Toronto as the series moves into Canada. It’s another street race but usually a good one.
Not to be left out CBS Sports also has a line up of races to watch on Sunday. They begin with a Pirelli World Challenge event then follow that with the German and British Touring Car Series then the after ends with a Lucas Oil Off Road Series event.
