While there are no more races in this region until spring other events are still happening or are being shown as reruns on TV.
Down in Southern California, at the Glen Helen track, it’s the 17th annual Red Bull Day in the Dirt. The event attracts hundreds of motocross riders for three days of competitions that end on Saturday with a huge blow out party in the barn.
With the start of Super Cross only five weeks away it’s a good chance for some riders to both have fun and test themselves before that series begins in earnest.
Hard core go kart racers will be at Bakersfield Kart Raceway for a two-day shoot out this weekend to benefit Alzheimer’s research. While most classes are welcome there is a $3,000 to win Senior Super Sportsman Pro race and the event will happen rain or shine.
Here at home MAVTV, for those that get it either on the cable or over the satellite, will have reruns of several events for those that want a break from football.
On Thanksgiving, beginning at 6 a.m. it’s the Lucas Oil Off Road series featuring the Pro 4 and Pro Buggy classes. Then an hour later, at 7 a.m., they’ll broadcast a drag boat event from Arizona.
This year’s Vegas to Reno race, put on by the Best in the Desert Series, will be shown at 10 a.m. Friday. Not much on Saturday but Dave Despain’s interview show begins a 5 p.m. Sunday and runs for two hours with two different guests.
