RENO, NV (Nov. 15) – Racing preview this weekend has another major series ending its season. Even though there is no racing in our area there are four different races going on this weekend in California, Southern Nevada and Baja, Mexico.

And there is another Show N’ Shine on Sunday, which should be under good weather. Reno Cars and Coffee, starting at 10 a.m. will be at the Starbucks located at 1610 Robb Drive.
Have a car you want to show, this is a good time to do that and maybe cruise as well.

Over the hill at Wilseyville, California AMA District 36 is having a Hare Scrambles. Saturday and Sunday have different events for those interested.
Closer to home the schedules for Riverfront, Prairie City and E Street MX Park are up in the air until the weekend due to expected rain. So before going, even if its on Saturday and Sunday, check the hotline first at 775-265-7223.

To the south of Reno the Bishop Motocross is having another of its winter series races Sunday at the fairgrounds. Gates open at 7 a.m. with practice and racing to follow.

Down in Las Vegas the SKUSA Super Nationals started practice Wednesday and racing continues until the finals on Saturday. There are a few kart racers from this area competing in this annual event.
Baja, California is the site of another classic race as the 50th Baja 1000 will be run this weekend. Motorcycles launch Thursday morning and there are at least two riders, and maybe more, competing in that class.
The event also celebrates racing legend Rod Hall’s 80th birthday. He’s competed in every one and will be there a celebration at the finish.

No other racing is being streamed this weekend but there is a bunch on TV as NASCAR ends its season in Homestead, Florida. Three champions will be crowned and each of those three races has four drivers going for the title.
On Thursday NBC Sports gets things going with NASCAR America at 2 p.m. then at 3 p.m. Fox Sports 1 has NASCAR Race Hub. At 5 p.m. Fox Sports 2 has NHRA in 30.
Friday begins early, at 5:30 a.m. as Fox Sports 1 begins with Camping World Truck Practice followed at 9:30 on NBC Sports with Xfinity and NASCAR Cup practice.
Then at 12:30 p.m. Fox Sports 1 has qualifying for the trucks followed at 3 p.m. on NBC Sports with NASCAR Cup qualifying.

Going into the day the four truck drivers will be in contention for the series championship. They are Christopher Bell, defending champion Johnny Sauter, Matt Crafton and Austin Cindric. Their race begins at 5 p.m. on Fox Sports 1.
Saturday starts early for FIA World Endurance Championship fans as race from Bahrain begins at 5 a.m. on Fox Sports 1 then at 8:30 a.m. switches to Fox Sports 2.
The Xfinity series ends its season Saturday and will crown the champion.
Back in Homestead the Xfinity series season ending race starts at 12:30 p.m. on NBC Sports.
Once again their playoffs ended up with four contenders racing for that championship. They are Justin Allgaier, William Byron, Daniel Hemric and Elliott Sadler.
The big race of the weekend is Sunday’s event at Homestead as four drivers race for the first Monster Energy NASCAR Cup. The green waves at noon and this time NBC will carry the race.
Going for the title are Las Vegas native Kyle Busch along with Bakersfield native Kevin Harvick. The two other drivers are Brad Keselowski and Martin Truex Jr.
In his final race Sunday Dale Earnhardt Jr. will have this color scheme on is car at Homestead.

That race is significant as fans will say good-by to Dale Earnhardt Jr. as he ends his long racing career. Another driver competing in his final event, at least for now, is Matt Kenseth.
