RENO (July 13) – Racing Preview for this weekend is another buffet of varied treats for racing fans. This not only includes events in our region but some in California as well as those on TV and streamed across the Internet.
Oval track fans have two events to choose from on Saturday. To the east Rattlesnake Raceway, starting at 6 p.m. has the cars and Outlaw Karts, that start early in the afternoon.
For the second time this season the Nevada Pro Stock Association visits American Valley Speedway.
Down in Feather River country the Nevada Pro Stock Association visits American Valley Speedway in Quincy, California. As usual things get going at 7 p.m. down there.
This weekend Top Gun Raceway, south of Fallon, gets the weekend started with $5 Friday where people can test and tune their cars on the quarter mile. Saturday begins at 8:30 a.m. when the Junior Dragsters take to the track followed by the cars as they compete in Round 9 of the ET series.

Over the hill Prairie City will be the site of the season ending Norcal Rock Racing and VORRA short track season. The action begins at 10 a.m. Saturday and as of now the series won’t have a fall ending event.
For the motocross crowd Riverfront has practice sessions from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings. E Street MX Park has a close practice Saturday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. for the Sierra Old Timers then open practice from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Sunday.
Moving over to TV land things it’s a bit slim for Thursday although MAVTV will have several reruns of events. The list starts at noon with Dirty 30 followed by Super Cup Stock Car Series, Lucas Oil Drag Boats, Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League, Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and other events.
This week the top two divisions of NASCAR visit the mile at Loudon, New Hampshire. Friday begins at 8:30 a.m. on NBC Sports with practice sessions and ends at 1:45 p.m. with NASCAR Cup qualifying.
Saturday, at 11 a.m. NBC Sports has Formula 1 qualifying from Silverstone, England. Then at 1 p.m. the network airs the Xfinity race from Loudon.
Over on the Internet www.fanschoice.tv gets the day started at 4:50 a.m. with NASCAR Euro Elite 1 racing from Venray then follows that with the Elite 2 race at 8:05 a.m. Later in the afternoon, starting at 3:30 p.m. there is more racing to be streamed starting with Berlin Raceway followed by an event from Langely Speedway.
Sunday is a busy day on TV with many events, both live and replayed.
Fox Sports 1 starts the show at 4 a.m. with a FIA World Endurance race from Nurburgring then at 4:30 a.m. CNBC has the British Grand Prix from Silverstone. It’s one of the classic races that any Formula 1 driver wants to win.
Silverstone is the site of this year’s British Grand Prix.

And if the Formula 1 body isn’t careful they’ll lost this race after 2019. It’s the birthplace of the modern F-1 era.
At noon NBC Sports has the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup from the mile at Loudon, New Hampshire. This 1 mile track features lost of passing and action.
NASCAR’s top two divisions are at Loudon, New Hampshire this weekend.

The Indy Cars are racing in Toronto, Canada this weekend and live coverage begins at noon on CNBC followed by delayed broadcast at 4 p.m. on NBC Sports.
Not to be left out CBS Sports also has a bunch of events shown on delayed basis. Things start at 10 a.m. with an ASTC race followed at 11 a.m. by an Australian V-8 Supercar event.
In fact there are at least two Supercar races repeated then at 3 p.m. the Mobile 1 “The Grid,” show is on followed at 3:30 p.m. by Formula Drift. The day ends at 4 p.m. with a Trans-Am race and a Lucas Oil Off Road Series event.
That’s it for this hot summer weekend. Be sure to get out and see a race live as there is nothing like it for color, speed and excitement.
