June begins with another addition to our family of sponsors and our first dealer.
RENO (June1) – Big Valley Honda has been a fixture of this area for the past 31 years. Years ago it was located next to what is now the Grand Sierra but in 2000 moved to its present location at 2225 Market Street.
Asked about the dealership General Manager Layne Kolbet said, “We’re a level 5 Honda Power House dealer, specializing in Honda products. “We offer ATV’s, UTV’s, Motorcycles, on and off road from beginner to expert level machines.”
The large showroom is full of different types and styles of machines Honda produces from two to four-wheeled ones. And it’s a very range of products.
“We have from a 50cc Sierra 50 dirt bike all the way up to a Honda Gold Wing that is a 1800cc cruiser to the limited edition Pioneer 1000, 5-seater deluxe which has every accessory Honda has to offer with Fox shocks on it and seats five grown men comfortably,” Kolbet said.
On the showroom floor product types are grouped so the UTV’s and ATV’s are close together as are the dirt bikes and over on the other side all types street bikes from scooters to cruisers.
The showroom also has a selection of parts and accessories as well as clothing, helmets, goggles and boots.
“We carry Fox, Fast House, Troy Lee Design, Fly Racing for off-road gear. For on road gear we carry Alpinestar, ICON, Speed and Strength Street Apparel,” he said. “We carry it all, everything from head to toe, male to female, to a little kid, we have it.”
In the back there is a service department with certified technicians and in another room shelves of parts are available.
“We do every service there is on Honda machines. We carry the majority of the OEM parts and we can get all the OEM parts through America Honda and after market parts for other brands,” he said.
Explaining the key to the business, Kolbet said, “We try and sell service, that’s all we’ve got to sell.”
