Even at this late date there is still racing to see or watch.

Racing preview for this weekend reflects the shrinking of events as series are winding up. While the pickings are getting slimmer in the two-wheeled world the racing is still hot and heavy.

The big event this weekend will be when MRANN makes its annual visit to Moon Rocks for the Halloween Hare Scrambles presented by the Rimbenders and Cheaters Motorcycle Clubs. It’s called the Moonrocks Revenge 100.

The action begins at 9:30 a.m. when the Pee Wees begin their race. This time there are some special sections and might even be a covered area these youngsters get to ride through.

Then at 11 a.m. the Mini Bikes, Saturday Women as well as the Bombers get their chance. After that, at 1 p.m. there will be team races.

And all through the weekend there is a costume contest, Trick or Treating Saturday night and even a Camp Decorating contest. It’s a fun fill time out there.

On Sunday the big bikes get their turn on the long course beginning at 10 a.m. and some might even be racing in costume.

Livfast Exit 28 Motocross track will have practice sessions from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Other Motocross riders will be heading over the hill for the first round of a Triple Crown series. Practice on Saturday and racing on Sunday at the Oatfield MX track. For further information please check, www.motoprotriplecrown.com.

Off road racers have one more chance to race before the winter shuts everything down.

VORRA will have the 2016 Halloween Bash on Saturday, starting at 10 a.m. in the Prairie City SVRA. All the VORRA as well as the ULTRA 4 classes are welcome. For further information please check www.vorra.net.

Over on TV land MAVTV has several shows on Thursday. At 7:30 a.m. they’ll show two buggy classes that raced at the Wild West Motorsports Park when the Lucas Oil Off Road Series was there in August.

Then at 4 p.m. Speed Sport has small block Supermodifieds from Oswego, New York follow at 6 p.m. with Wing Sprint Cars from Madera Speedway.

This week two NASCAR series visit its smallest track also known as the “Paper Clip,” at Martinsville. Friday begins at 8 a.m. with Sprint Cup and Truck practice sessions.

Saturday starts at 10:30 a.m. as Fox Sports 1 broadcasts the Camping World Truck Series from Martinsville. Then at 2 p.m. www.fanschoice.tv has the NWAAS Grand Finale 100 from Tucson Speedway.

The weekend ends with a pretty full schedule on Sunday.

Sunday begins early as MAVTV has two shows, one at 2 a.m. and the other at 5 a.m. from the World Rally in Wales.

Then NBC Sports gets going at 10 a.m. with the NASCAR Cup Race from Martinsville. At 11:30 a.m. NBC airs the Grand Prix of Mexico as the F-1 drivers tackle a course that even runs through an old baseball stadium.

And at 1 p.m. Fox Sports broadcasts the NHRA event from Las Vegas. With only two events to go in the count down every run and every point is critical for those working for a championship.

CBS Sports also has a line up of its own starting at 10 a.m. with Formula Drift followed by Mobil 1 The Grid and two World of Outlaw events.

Once again, it you can be sure to get out and see a race live. There is nothing like it as you can really experience the speed, color and excitement of racing.
