Racing preview this week has two motocross events listed as well as where to find the updates on this year’s Dakar Rally.
While there is less than a month from the start of racing in our area there are two motocross races in California that area riders will be traveling to.
Down at Bishop, at the Tri-County Fairgrounds, the third round of the winter series will be run and gates open at 7 a.m. Then on Sunday over in Turlock, at the Oatfield Raceway, the AMP MX Winter Series begins.
At least some from Team Testa will be at the race in Turlock while there might be some area riders heading for Bishop. We here at Nvracingnews would like to wish them the best.
As usual Livfast Exit 28 will hold practice sessions from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. This of course will depend on the weather so be sure to check their Face Book page.
NBC Sports has been following this year’s Dakar Rally and on Thursday they will have another broadcast at 2:30 p.m. On that same day MAVTV has the Dirty 30 show starting at noon followed at 12:30 p.m. by Madera Late Models and, at 1 p.m., Speed Sport.
On Friday NBC Sports will have Dakar Rally coverage at 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. as this event winds down.
On Wednesday there were still five American riders in the Motorcycle class, where Ricky Brabec was second in his state, and Robby Gordon was the lone U.S. entry left in the Car class.
Saturday has two big events with the Lucas Oil Chili Bowl starting things at 5:30 p.m. on MAVTV. Then at 7 p.m. Fox Sports 1 has round 2 of the Supercross series from San Diego.
On Sunday, NBC Sports has Dakar Rally highlights starting at 2 p.m. while MAVTV, at noon and 3 p.m., had Lucas Oil Drag Boat racing.
Over on the Internet www.fanschoice.tv will broadcast on Sunday the AMA Pro Flat Track race. Times were not shown when this article was written so be sure to check that morning.
That’s it for this week. Winter might be here but the racing scene is beginning to come alive.
