Motor sports are beginning to heat up for the New Year and this week’s preview has what you need to get your racing fix.

The racing preview this week has a much-anticipated event plus another one that has been running since last Sunday. So the New Year is already starting to heat up.

Livefast Exit 28 practice

Locally Livfast Exit 28 will have practice session from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. This depends on the weather, which should be good both days.

Most of the action on TV are rebroadcasts from events held last year and as usual MAVTV has the most of them. Here are just some of the selections for this week.

Thursday begins at noon with Dirty 30 followed at 12:30 p.m. by Madera Late Models and at 1 p.m. with Speed Sport.

Friday is pretty well empty but Saturday is packed with several event.

At 2 p.m. it’s the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series followed by 4 p.m. with the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series.

Then at 10 p.m. the 2015 FIA World Rally event from Corsica is broadcast. On Sunday, at 3 p.m., there are the Lucas Oil Drag Boats.

But the most anticipated event is the start of the Supercross series. The event is broadcast live on Fox Sports 1 starting at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday evening.

Leading up to the event on www.supercrosslive.com will be practice sessions live on the Internet followed by the event itself. It rained a lot in the Los Angeles area this week and if this happens on Saturday the event could turn into a mud bog that would change everything.

Another event that is going on this week is the Dakar Rally from South America. NBC Sports is broadcasting a recap show every day and the schedule is posted at the end of this article.

Be sure to check the TV Guide for correct time as they might not be exactly what the schedule shows.

On www.fanschoice.tv there are two days of racing at the Pirtek Snocross Nationals. Please check the times each day for when the broadcasts are shown.

That’s it for this week. Local racing begins early next month but for now the TV and Internet will have to suffice.
