SPARKS CARS & COFFEE ENDS THE MONTH

RENO, NV (Feb. 23) — Sparks Cars & Coffee held its end of the month meet this Sunday. Despite the gray clouds there was a pretty good turn out.

Contrast is all around at these meets.

As usual at these meets there were contrasts between models of vehicles. One was this El Camino parked next to a Pickup.

Hoods up row.

Over on another row owners put up the hoods of their cars so folks could admire the engines they have in their vehicles

A group of street bike riders showed up. They parked in a row so people could check out their rides.

Since all types of vehicles are welcomed at Cars & Coffee event there is a growing group riding in on their street bikes. They were parked in a row so people could admire their bikes

The star of the exotics was this Lamborghini Hurrcan STO.

The star of the show was an exotic car owned by former dirt bike racer Greg Thiessen.

Front view of the Lamborghini.

Asked about it he said, “ It’s a 2023 Lamborghini Hurrcan STO. It’s a lighter, faster version of the normal Hurrcan and I just got it a week ago.

“Only going to use it for weekend stuff, canyon driving, things like that. Not too much you can do to them, just protect it with PPF, it’s got some exhaust mods and stuff. Other than that they’re pretty stock.”

Greg Thiessen stands by the Lamborghini Hurrcan STO he got last week.

Later Thiessen added that he has two Lotus cars at home and one of them is a racecar.

Around 11:30 some of the group was going to cruise up to Virginia City. Apparently it was a pretty good crowd and a great afternoon for a cruise.

• Next weekend both Reno Cars & Coffee as well as Reno Jeeps and Coffee get March started with meets. One can find the information in my Thursday preview article.
