RENO, NV (Oct. 8) — After posting the Dirt Track Championship report I realized there were a few loose ends that I wanted to tie up. Have to thank Mark Hain and Brett Wilkins for their help.
This past year the IMCA classes, in addition to racing at individual tracks were part of the NAPA “ Know How 2 Get ‘er Done” series. Seven tracks and with the usual two-day format there were 13 races for points, with the final round at Rattlesnake Raceway this week.
In the IMCA Modified or A Mods, the winner was Shawn Natenstedt with 482 points. Runner up Alec Childs had 438 points while third place Cole Jones didn’t run all the events so he ended up with 208 points.
The IMCA Sport Mods group had a season long dog fight between Mark Hain and Thomas Duncan that wasn’t settled until DTC Saturday at Rattlesnake Raceway.
At the end ended up with 459 points while Duncan was only 7 points behind with 452 and Richard Vander Ploeg finished in third with 297 points.
Moving to the IMCA Stock Car class Zach Cail won with 343 points. The runner up was Cody Morris, who earned 224 points while third place Marie Curtis finished with 208 just five points ahead of Brad Schmidt’s 203 points.
Everyone got their checks Saturday night and hope this series happens in 2025. Here are the total points.
• Those that are members of Rattlesnake Raceway were engaged in their own points race. That was settled at the Sept. 14 race, two weeks before TDC weekend.
Topping the Mini Stocks was Jorden Riley with 521 points while runner up Joseph Cook ended with 509 points. In the Street Stock division Ryan Parkhurst ended up with 540 points while second place Joe Conroy had 527 points.
The Bootlegger champ was Joseph Keough, who ended up just one point head of Dodge Turner. In the IMCA Stock Cars Cody Morris topped the point with 458 while runner up Ray Blankenship ended the season with 439 points.
The IMCA Sport Mod class had the closest points finish. John Schilling ended up with 510 points while second place Tom Duncan was just one marker behind with 509 points. Mikki Beuchat is the IMCA A Mod champ with 259 points while runner up Cody Neff had 207 points.
Next up for Rattlesnake Raceway is the awards banquet on November 9. Then after a holiday rest drivers and crews will start prepare for the 2025 season.

• Remember all car clubs are invited to a special meeting this coming Sunday at the National Auto Museum. Nevada Car Coalition is the host, meeting begins at 1 p.m. and its to help plan for the Summer Salute that happens in May and benefits veterans.
• Davey’s American Racing is found on Face Book. His focus is on western oval tracks as well as national series.
He recently started his broadcasts so check Face Book around 6 p.m. Wednesday. He also posts during the week.
