STREET VIBRATIONS WEEK + CAR MEETS

RENO, NV (Sept. 29) — This week was when the annual Street Vibrations Fall Rally was held in our region. In addition there were other car meets in the area.

One part of the line was T-Buckets and older restored cars.

• Friday began at Summit Racing Equipment located on East Glendale in Sparks. For those that showed up it was the last cruise in until next spring.

One row started from the middle with a vintage VW then included some great looking roadsters.

The other half of the line started with Corvettes and other newer vehicles.

The other row started with a couple of Corvettes, then a roadster and American sedans.

• Street Vibrations actually began Thursday, Oct. 26, and was spread into several areas. Down south at Battle Born Harley Davidson in Carson City was the site of one gathering.

Up on the Comstock C Street in Virginia City was lined on both sides with bikes. There were also various vendors, not to mention places to eat and be entertained.

In Reno the J Casino had entertainment and shows during the week. This included some freestyle Motocross jumping.

One rider brought his custom harley to the party.

Not far away Reno Harley Davidson was a magnet for bikes. In fact one rider brought his customized Harley for display.

It was a very busy time at the dealership with people buying things and enjoying the comradship.

There was an area where used bikes were for sale.

In addition to people riding in there was also a bunch of bikes for sale.

Both sides of Market Street were lined with bikes.

Both sides of the street were full of parked biked as well as people riding to and from the event.

There was even a contest for one of the events.

There were also trophies for one of the events. All in all it’s when this event brings people from all over to enjoy this time.

• Late Saturday afternoon was when the Square Body Passion Car Club held a meet by Bully’s in Carson City. The meet filled the parking lot with vehicles.

There were all kinds of trucks as well as cars. Club administrator Amanda Phearson said she thinks there were around 100 people that showed up so it was quite a success for the club.

REPORTER’S NOTE: Due to car problems was unable to get around much this weekend so couldn’t take as many photographs as I usually do. Want to thank Amanda for her help in providing a picture I could use.

OTHER RACING NEWS:

This weekend is the annual Dirt Track Championships held at Rattlesnake Raceway.

Just a head’s up, but this Friday and Saturday this is the 38th annual Dirt Track Championship at Rattlesnake Raceway. Two nights and a driver’s overall finish both nights determines if they are a class champion and get a year’s worth of bragging rights.

Desert Park Raceway, home of the Northern Nevada Kart Club, is closed this weekend due to the Air Show at Stead Airport.

For those that are members of the Northern Nevada Kart Club remember, due to the upcoming air show at Stead, the track at Desert Park Raceway is closed for four days this week.

All car clubs are invited to this planning session.

• All car clubs are asked to attend a meeting on Sunday, October 13. It’s to plan on bring back the Summer Salute next May.
