- Over at 225 Telegraph Street in Reno Auto Motions has Euro Cars ‘N’ Coffee has a 8:30 a.m. starting time to its meet.
- To the east Fallon Cars “N” Coffee has a meet beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the Alley Bar. Location is 1555 South Taylor Street.
• Sunday, starting at 10 a.m. Sparks Cars & Coffee should have its second meet of the month. Go north on Pyramid Highway and over the hill turn right on Disc Drive, the meet is beside the Starbucks.
- While not a car meet exactly, starting at noon Virginia City will have the annual Memorial Day Parade and there will probably be cars involved. Apparently there will be a fly over by the Nevada Air National Guard when the parade begins.
RACING (4-WHEEL):
• To the north Diamond Mountain Speedway in Susanville, Calif. is having Friday/Saturday night racing. Racing begins at 7 p.m. Friday and 6 p.m. Saturday evening.

RACING & PRACTICE (MOTORCYCLES):
• Biggest race in our area is the OTHG Nationals at the Fernley Sandbox MX Track. Two days of racing and a rider’s combined finishes determines their final placing for the class they ride in. Remember one must register on-line to participate in this event.
• Not far away the motocross track at Fernley NinetyfiveA Speedway will have two days of practice. Times are from 9 until 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The site is www.repracingmx.com.
• To the east the MX track at Elko is hosting Round 1 of the Cross Roads MX Series. It’s a Saturday/Sunday event.

• E Street MX Park has practice from 9 until 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday on both the front and back tracks.
RACING (NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL):
• This is the biggest racing weekend of the year. Thursday starts at 3 p.m. when Fox Sports 1 has NASCAR Race Hub. Then at 6 p.m. www.mavtv.com has a Supercar race.
• Friday starts on Peacock at 8 a.m. when the network airs Carb Day then a practice session for the Indy Cars. At 11:30 they show the Indy Car Pit Stop Challenge.
- At 3 p.m. Fox Sports 1 airs the ARCA Racing event from Charlotte then at 5:30 p.m. the network broadcasts the Craftsman Truck Series race from the same track.
• At 6:55 a.m. Saturday ESPN2 has Formula 1 qualifying from Monaco. Despite the cars being larger and faster they race on virtually the same track that was used in the 1920’s.
- Fox, at 10 a.m. airs the broadcasts the Xfinity race from Charlotte Motor Speedway.
- Peacock airs the first Pro Motocross event of the outdoor season. This time it’s from Fox Raceway and many of the Supercross stars will be there.
• For a race fan Sunday is the day. Have nice drinks on hand plus food is it will be a marathon.
- The www.trutv.com starts the day at 4:30 a.m. when they broadcast the MotoGP race from Catalunya.
- At that same time, 4:30 a.m., NBC airs the Formula 1 race from the classic course at Monaco. Racing on narrow streets between walls means a driver must be inch perfect.
- Then at 9:30 a.m. Peacock and NBC join forces to broadcast the classic American race, the Indy 500. It’s 200 high-speed laps around the 2.5 mile track that’s actually shaped more like a rectangle.
- Finally the day ends with the longest NASCAR Cup race of the season, the Coke 600. Here the drivers in heavier cars race for 600 miles around a 1.5-mile track. The trick is to finish and not get caught up any of the wrecks.
Whew! That’s it for this weekend. On Monday, besides being a holiday be sure to take a minute and remember those veterans we’ve lost over the years.
Until next week, take care, be safe and enjoy the holiday.
