RENO, NV (May 4) — Another busy weekend for car and racing fans. There is also a bunch to watch on TV as well including a new Formula 1 race in this country.
CAR MEETS:
• Wicked Ways is having th 3rd Annual Cinco De Mayo Ride and Shine on Saturday at the Bonanza Casino . Open to all models and a family event and the show runs from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.
• That evening from 5 until 8 p.m. Pizza Baron, located at 1155 W. Fourth Street in Reno has its first cruise of the year. They’ll have raffles and music.
• On Sunday Sparks Cars & Coffee, starting at 10 a.m. will have its first meet of the month. Location is the Starbucks located on Disc Drive.
RACING (REGIONAL & NEVADA):
• Friday and Saturday starting at 6 p.m. is when American Valley Speedway in Quincy, California hosts the Dwarf Car Nationals. It’s two evenings of racing for these little cars. Sport Mods and Hobby Stocks help round out Friday’s show while on Saturday A Mods and Mini Stocks round out the show.
• To the south the Legends Off Road series is in Primm, Nevada. Cars, Trucks and UTV’s race on Saturday.
• To the east Winnemucca Regional Raceway has a Friday/Saturday show. Gates open at 4 p.m. with racing beginning at 7 each night.
RACING & PRACTICE (MOTORCYCLES):
• Fernley 95A Speedway should have practice session on both motocross tracks, one is for the youngest riders, from 9 until 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
• MMX Racing has its regular practice schedule from 9 until 2 p.m. Saturday on the Kids, Sand and Main tracks. Then From 9 until 3 p.m. with the Vintage track added to the mix.
• Riverfront MX has practice from 5 until 10 p.m. on Thursday. Then from 9 until 2 p.m. Sunday on all the tracks.
• E Street MX is hosting a Sierra OTHG race weekend. The event is on Saturday with gates opening at 6:30 a.m., practice starts at 8 a.m. with racing to follow.
• Prairie City MX has a Mammoth Qualifier this weekend. Gates on Saturday open at 7 a.m. with practice from 9 until 2. Sunday is race day with gates opening at 6:30 a.m., practice at 8 a.m. with racing to follow.
• There is a Loretta Lynn qualifier on Sunday up at the Washougal course in Washington State.
RACING (NATIONAL):
• On Thursday at 3 p.m. Fox Sports 1 has NASCAR Race Hub. Then at 5 p.m. Fox Sports 2 has NHRA in 30.
• The Camping World Truck Series races at 4:30 p.m. Friday as they face the challenging track at Darlington.
• Saturday has an early start at 3:30 a.m. when www.motortrendondemand.com airs the FIA World Endurance Championship 6 Hours from Spa. Then at 10:30 a.m. Fox Sports 1 has the Xfinity series racing at Darlington.
At 11 a.m. Peacock has qualifying from the season ending AMA Supercross in Salt Lake City. Then at 5 p.m. CNBC and Peacock join forces to air the final AMA Supercross event of this season. Eli Tomac, the 450 champion, is out with a knee injury.
• Sunday at 12:30 p.m. Fox Sports has the NASCAR Cup race from Darlington, also known as the “Track Too Tough To Tame.” This weekend Formula 1 is in America at a new track. On Sunday at 11 a.m. ABC and www.espn3.com air the race from a new course in Miami.

• There will be construction going on at Desert Park Raceway through Friday. The Northern Nevada is working on improvements but the track will be open Friday evening.
• Teresa’s Garage Radio Show is on the air from 2 until 3 p.m. Tuesday afternoon. In northwest Nevada, it can be heard over the air at 1060 AM.
There is also a Podcast at amm.streamon.fm or it can be seen live on Face Book. The show is focused on all things automotive, trends, new developments and trivia.
