RENO, NV (March 17) — Racing Preview is slowly filling up as the seasons open. Much is going on this week and through the coming weekend.
CAR MEET:
• Big news is Reno Cars & Coffee has a new location for its third weekend of the month meet. It’s the Human Bean coffee stand located by the corner of Kietzke and Moana.
As usual the meet begins at 10 a.m. and the new location is about block west of the freeway (580). Should be good weather with lots of cars, trucks and some motorcycles.
MOTOCROSS (RACING AND PRACTICE):
• This weekend the Reno chapter of the Old Timer’s Motorcycle Club is holding a round of the Old Timer National series. Location is the Sandbox or Fernley Motocross Track located just west of the Veteran’s Cemetery.
Friday is for practice then on Saturday there are three motos for the OT classes and two for the support classes. On Sunday there are two motos for the OT classes and another two for the support classes.
• Saturday is when MRANN is having a ride day and banquet at the Riverfront MX Park in Marysville, California. While ticket sales are closed, there are not available at the gate, the day starts with practice at 9 a.m., food is served at 2:20 p.m. followed by the banquet and awards at 3.
• Sunday is the final round of the 2021 Frigid Series. This time the venue is AMP MX and that link is on the attached poster and it www.ampgfimx.com.
• MMX Racing in Marysville will have practice sessions this weekend. On Saturday it is from 9 until 2 p.m. then from 9 until 3 p.m. Sunday. Since weather is expected in the next day or two best advice to call before heading out and that number is 530-777-9724.
• REP Racing MX is also facing possible weather so there was no update when this article was posted. Again best advice is to check the hotline, 775-265-7223, or check the website www.repracingmx.com before heading out.
RACING (NATIONAL):
• All this week, leading up to the mains on Saturday, the Dirt Nationals at Bristol Motor Speedway have been going on. Late Models, Modifieds and Stock Cars have been racing for position in the final main events.
The paved half-mile banked track has been changed to a dirt rack and several NASCAR Cup drivers are racing this week to get familiar with the new surface before the Cup event arrives.

• This is Sebring week and Thursday gets rolling on www.imsa.tv with the first Porsche Carrera Cup North America race that starts at2:25 p.m. Then at 5:30 p.m. Fox Sports 2 airs NHRA in 30.
• Friday is all IMSA.tv as the network starts at 5:55 a.m. with the Mazada MX-5 race followed at 7:05 a.m. with the second Porsche Carrera Cup North America race. Then at 8:10 a.m. starts qualifying for the 12 Hours of Sebring.
•Saturday is a busy day starting at 10 a.m. when NBC Sports begins coverage of the IMSA Weather Tech Championship 12 Hours of Sebring. It the middle coverage switched to the NBC Sports App then back to NBC Sports for coverage of this classic once around the clock endurance race.
• The second Texas Supercross race at Arlington was on Tuesday but number 3 will be broadcast live on Peacock at 5 p.m. then repeated at 7:30 p.m. on NBC Sports. You Tube also has recaps of the race.
• Finally on Sunday, starting at noon, FOX presents the NASCAR Cup race from Atlanta. It’s one if not the fastest track on the NASCAR circuit.

• Teresa’s Garage Radio Show is on the air from 2 until 3 p.m. Tuesday afternoon. In northwestern Nevada up to Susanville the show can be heard over the air on 1060 AM.
