We wish to extend our welcome to the newest sponsor of this site. Tread Connection is another business that is relatively new to Northern Nevada and its actually a Franchise, owned and operated by Blake Sobiloff and his wife Raina.
“We’re the first ones to bring the franchise to Northern Nevada,” he said. “I learned about it on a car forum where a guy had used the service and raved about it. I thought ‘that’s a good idea,’ and looked to see if we had something like here in Reno and Sparks. We didn’t.”
Finding the franchise came at a good time for the Sobiloffs as they were looking to make some changes in their lives.
“It became a nice idea because we were both looking at a change of careers. We were doing a lot of traveling and looking for something that would keep us closer to home,” he said. “And we’ve always been car people as well.
“So it was a happy confluence of events and a franchise was available here in Reno and Sparks. Se we decided to take the leap, make career changes and invest in us.”
The business actually got started in May 2020 and its motto is “You have better things to do so we’ll bring the tire store to you.”
With all the restrictions and social distancing required these days the business is perfect for this time and situation.
“We sanitize everything a customer touches and we really offer a completely touch free service,” he said. “So you can call or click then pick your tires. We load them up and bring them out to your car. If your car is unlocked you don’t even need to be near the vehicle and can pay us over the web.”
This contact free service is available so a person doesn’t need to leave their home or their office. Raina added the service can be preformed when customers are in a restaurant for a meal, shopping in a mall or parked at a gold course.”
“They go shopping with their wives, have dinner, come back and they’ve got new tires on the car,” she said.
They added they service campers , utility trailers, ATV’s and Side-by-Sides like UTV’s. Then Raina added that, even though they love them, the service isn’t for motorcycles.
She added they offer a discount on labor for veterans, first responders as well as active military and those in the National Guard and Reserves.
The van Sbiloff works out of has state of the art equipment for removing a tire off a wheel and remounting its replacement. Then it goes onto a Corghi Balancing system that takes 500 points of measurements as the tire and wheel are spinning. That way everything is as it should be for the new tire or tires.
While they don’t offer alignments Sobiloff has a special high tech scanner. This piece of equipment takes a scan across the tire’s tread. From that he can tell how the tread and tire wear is doing and if an alignment or other service is needed.
This scanning service can be a valuable tool especially for fleet owners. He can come in on a regular basis and scan the vehicles tires. With that information the owner can be advised when they might want to consider replacing tires.
“That way an owner or company won’t suddenly find the need to replace the tires of several vehicles at once,” he said.
Asked how the business is being received Sobiloff said, “It’s been great but our biggest challenge is letting people know about the service. As soon as they learn about it, they love it as we get great reviews and a lot of repeat customers.”
He added the business is growing every month and the effort is to find additional ways to let people know the service exists in this area.
For further information one can go to their Facebook site, or to www.treadconnection.com. They are also on Instagram as well as Yelp. One can also call them direct at 775-870-3600 or send an e-mail to bsobiloff@treadconnectioncom.
Now with this service not only can one get new tires but with the time coming to change from winter to summer tires the service will come to the customer.
