RENO, NV (JULY 20) — Due to circumstance this reporter was unable to attend the VORRA Fallon 250 this weekend. So this article is a look forward to what is going to happen  over the next few weeks. If you love cruising or car show it’s a full banquet and then some.

CAR MEETS/CRUISES:

Tuesday gets rolling with the cruise at the South Meadows Steak ‘N Shake.

• On Saturday, from 5 until 10 p.m. at the Reno Town Mall, by the Atlantis there is another car show. All models, all years and all makes are welcome.

Reno Town Mall has a Show ‘N Shine plus craft show.

One can register the day of the show and there will be trophies as well as dash plaques. The event is presented by Northern Nevada Classics to benefit the Eddy House and will also have a craft show.

RACING (REGIONAL):

• Diamond Mountain Speedway in Susanville, California is supposed to have a Friday-Saturday event this coming weekend. However when this article was posted it might be in doubt.

Since things have changed in California the track doesn’t know if spectators will be allowed or not. I’m told if they aren’t allowed the races won’t happen. Stay tuned for further information.

• Summit Raceway, between Elko and Spring Creek has two days of racing Friday and Saturday.

On Friday karts race starting at 6 p.m. while the cars take to the track at 6:30 then on Saturday karts start at 4 p.m. and the cars start at 5 p.m.

•  To the south Tonopah Speedway, on Saturday, has a race honoring the memory of R.J.Gillum and Garnet Robertson. For Hobby Stocks it is $1,000 to win and the rest of the payout will depend on the field. Mini Stocks will be there as well as Sports Mods, Cam Coups and possibly Dwarf Cars.

No beverages will be available so they ask fans to please bring their own and observe social distancing.

• Closer to home the Northern Nevada Kart Club is hosting another race at Desert Park Raceway on Sunday. Sadly once again there are to be no spectators.
